Scaler 3 - Released

As much as they pride themselves having a background in classical music, I'd love to get more descriptive and modern performances, phrases and rhythms than Andantino, Slargando, or Piacevole. Sure, it's referencing ways expression is decribed in classical sheet music, but I'd say those who actually know what these mean probably don't really need Scaler.

I haven’t watched the second longer video, but does anyone know if you can now sort results for a scale you add in to Scaler that you know the key of? I always know what key I’m in, just not the scale. In Scaler 2 here I found it annoying that it randomly sorts the suggested scales without regard to key..

Technically the way to describe this in standard music theory jargon iirc would be to say you know the tonic (the root note that acts as the tonal center) but not the scale.

And I would guess it´s far less classical trained muscians who are familiar with this kind of terms but far far more not classical trained (bedroom) producers who have no clue what this shall mean and do not have any ambition to learn them...

I believe it’s designed for people in tv/film/games who need to put cues together very quickly and iterate ideas fast.

Bit harsh. There will be loads of bedroom producers who are “enthusiast” level on the piano and to whom this plugin is a huge benefit. Im in that category.

Agree with what others say though - the core features (chord types, scale finder) is where the focus needs to be, and looks like that will be

Ironically one of Scaler's best functions is as a kind of educational tool that teaches you about chord theory, scales, transitions, styles etc. using well established systems and terminology.

God forbid we put any effort into learning about music.

stupid question guys, i use soemtimes CAPTAIN CHORDS and it is pretty simple and gives you nice suggestions to get some new ideas but it seems this is not possible what im looking for.
e.g. i want to set a scale and then click on the chords + suggested follow up chord progressions but i want to initiate it with a click or note press. in captain chords i always have to wait until it play and i cannot click/play a note and hear my selected 3rd party vst.

would it be possible with Scaler 3? and then of course drag these notes as midi into my daw

Please tell me what a producer... not muscian ... working in a standard DAW without any notation but usual midi clips via the PR Editor can make any use of traditional music terms...

For me the answer is absolutely clear: in not a single situation... not once in the past 30 years!

If I look in "normal arpeggiators" and sequencers found in the VST and native DAW world... surprisingly they use terms like up, down, up/down, random,... etc...
Right out of my brain I cannot remember a single one using "music theory nomenclature"...
How can that be if it´s the standard language for everybody making music??

So why can I not consider this as waste of brain space if I would need these terms just for a single plugin but nowhere else??
For me it would be similar to learning a dead language nobody I know speaks... it´s clearly waste of time and memory to put stuff in your head you won´t use anyway.

In Scaler (all versions afaik) you can bind chords to midi keys so you can play the chords with your keyboard in any rhythm and any time you like without having to start the sequencer or it´s internal one...
Of course they do play as well if you just click on them...
I hope I understood right...
