Let’s put the bot theory to rest. For example, in the most recent posts, we can see that the New Nation code was registered by a member and the Arturia codes required accounts to use.

Anyway, why not just try a separate thread and see how it goes?

Those who was frustrated before will still get frustrated after.
Bots will most likely be happier though.

or how about those that dont get something for free just stop complaining and dreaming up conspiracy scenarios. This just takes away from the generosity that is on display by folks posting free serials.

It will be wherever your other hardware-bundled codes are. And if your hardware qualifies I guess. I didn't get one from Novation for my 1st gen Launchkey 49, but KORG gave me one for my microKEY 25.

Where do you register your Korg products? I have a Korg ID account, but the only hardware on the drop-down list are various Kronos and Nautilus versions.

Why not just make a dedicated thread?

I suggested that quite some time ago. I suggested this discussion thread be created many years ago and it has done a very good job of keeping the main deals thread clean.

People just sharing stuff is a good thing.

Only if they are legally allowed to share that stuff. That was my point.

KVR has always enjoyed a great relationship with developers but if we allow abuse of those developers that relationship could be at risk (as well as advertising dollars).

For the record I never have and never will use one of the shared codes. So I don't care one bit if I get one or not. I'd rather see those go to people who need them and will use them to make music instead of people who are just trying to abuse the gifts by reselling them. The fact that the codes always go so quickly with very little gratitude in return is pretty compelling evidence that at least some abuse is occurring.

My sole mission is to make sure we're doing the right thing for everyone here. My concern is for contributing members of KVR not lurkers or people who just want to abuse the freebies.

The codes in question are all paid for. And you can only use them once anyway. Where's the abuse of developers? If the product is acquired legally and registered and used as intended than where's the abuse in that?
I'm not a bot, as you may have guessed. And I'm not a reseller. But how can you tell? You can't. So let's just prohibit the thing, just in case. Right? Let's stop selling knives to people, cause a murderer can buy and use one. Simple.
