I think it mostly comes down to personal preference, and what fits an individual's production style. Also, I'm certain that most of the people who want them are on the start of their music creation journey, or aren't able to afford such products.

regarding the Komplete select codes, just letting you guys know that although yesterday I had no code available, today it was there on my account at https://novationmusic.com/my-account . this was from a novation launch key mini MK3 I bought quite some years ago. so they may take a while but the code did arrive. sweet!

Did you not register its serial# with an NI account? Normally there's free software-titles tied to the hardware too which you otherwise don't get either, no?

You would need to buy an Edition and then buy the upgrade from Edition. I imagine you'd have the best luck by finding a TH3 Full for cheap second-hand, then buying the $49 upgrade for it.
