I haven't found a real midi drag and drop for the sequencer pattern in PB 4, where did you find that? The response I got from Audiomodern was that you can only use midi to trigger a lane to play in the plugin sequencer which isn't the same thing as the actual drag and drop of the midi pattern data that you can do with EZ Drummer, etc. Maybe I am confused, if so I would be happy to be wrong. But I would like to know where the midi drag and drop is if it is there. Like I said, I'd be happy to be wrong.pdxindy wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:14 pmPlaybeat can send out midi... to Drum PluginJiggSaw wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:01 pm Is routing midi out to another Drum VST possible? Playbeat can send each track to separate midi channels.

Playbeat 3 didn't have real midi drag and drop, I asked about that on their forum back in 2021, below is the link to the forum post.pdxindy wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 10:50 pmPlaybeat 3 has midi drag-n-drop. So they removed it?seangm wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 10:20 pm Still no real midi drag and drop from the internal sequencer. You aren't able to drag the midi pattern to your DAW like you can with EZ Drummer, UJAM stuff and most other drum plugins.
Audiomodern's reply about drag and drop in PB3 was this below, basically you can only use midi to trigger a pattern in the plugin sequencer, you don't get the actual midi for the pattern dragged into your DAW:

Hello Sean, I hope you’re doing well and safe.
Thanks for reaching out. Playbeat uses real-time pitch shifting for each of the sequencers and not static, which would make the MIDI input data irrelevant to the playback. Each of the ‘effects’ on the chain (Density/Pitch/Volume/Pan etc…) process audio in real time therefore having different notes on MIDI input would not translate during playback.
You can however 1. save your patterns as presets and trigger them via MIDI through the Quick-Load slots on your project(s), 2. export them as Audio (Stems or Full Mixes) or 3. Record Playbeat in real-time to another Audio track.
Hope this helps!
Max"

December 2021 was over three years ago. Playbeat 3 has drag and drop, but it does something weird to the notes where you get doubled notes in quick succession. Support told me there's no issue but other users told me they had the same problem. I was curious if this new version fixed it.

Yeah I don't know if you're referring to drag and drop of midi to just trigger the sequencer pattern? That has always been available, I'm talking about the actual midi events for the sequencer pattern being dragged into the DAW, that wasn't working with PB 3.cake builder wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:31 pm December 2021 was over three years ago. Also, I was told by Audiomodern today that there is only drag and drop to trigger the sequencer lanes in the plugin, not actual pattern data still. They left a reply to my comment on the PB 4 youtube video today saying that drag and drop was only for triggering sequencer lanes, not actual pattern data. But if you know how to drag and drop actual pattern midi data please let me know because I am not seeing it and Audiomodern is not saying it's possible in PB 4. If you really want to sift through the comments on this video their reply is in there:

The manual doesn't say anything about the pattern's midi events being dragged to the DAW, only that you can "Export as midi file" which isn't really clear what the midi data is.JiggSaw wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:45 pmPage 18 in the manual talks about midi exportseangm wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:19 pmI haven't found a real midi drag and drop for the sequencer pattern in PB 4, where did you find that? If someone is able to export the actual midi events into your DAW I would love to know, it's not working for me.

There's some confusion in your conversation.seangm wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:24 pm Playbeat 3 didn't have real midi drag and drop, I asked about that on their forum back in 2021, below is the link to the forum post.
Audiomodern's reply about drag and drop in PB3 was this below, basically you can only use midi to trigger a pattern in the plugin sequencer, you don't get the actual midi for the pattern dragged into your DAW:
Playbeat 3 had midi drag-n-drop and so does 4. I just created a pattern in Playbeat 4 and dragged the pattern as a midi clip into the Bitwig clip launcher.
Go to the Export page.

On the Export page, there is a drag-n-drop option for each of the tracks, or all 8 tracks.seangm wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:48 pm The manual doesn't say anything about the pattern's midi events being dragged to the DAW, only that you can "Export as midi file" which isn't really clear what the midi data is.

There is also an option to save as a midi clip.

It does include pitch changes. Make a lane with 16 16th notes on D3. Put the pitch to F#3 for one of the notes. Drag just that track to a midi clip and you get 15 notes on D3 and the one on F#3m-ac wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 12:46 am I think seangm may be referring to the midi not including things such as the pitch lanes etc?
Make the density 2 on one note, drag that into the DAW and you will have 2 32nd notes where you should.

PB 3 has Midi Export. You can export each sequence lane individually, or all 8 lanes at the same time. However, there are definitely some sync issues with the actual sequence in Playbeat and what is actually exported. At least there is in Logic Pro. And it is annoying for sure. I have more or less just learned to work around it, but it would be nice if Audiomodern would address it. I'm not sure if PB4 has fixed this problem or not.

Yeah I'm just passing along what the dev told me, I bought the upgrade and am happy with it other than that so all good.

I got you, bro. There was controversy around their release of Soundbox - viewtopic.php?t=614715swilow11 wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 9:59 pm Hang on, I thought we were all boycotting this developer because of the issue with the...whatever the last thing they released and it was...something bad and maybe didn't support MPE properly and...f**k I don't know anymore. But we were all against them recently and speaking for myself, I'm not backing down unless I remember what the issue was and it turns out to be really stupid.

The only thing I found in V3 was if you set the timing of a track to say 1/8th instead of 1/16th, then dragged the pattern into the DAW, the 16th lanes wouldn't double up. The timing seemed fine besides that.
I didn't check V4 to see if this was improved.
If Logic were my primary DAW, I'd never use think of using Playbeat cause the Logic Step Sequencer is so much better. I don't actually use Playbeat that much in Bitwig. I prefer using midi clips in the Clip Launcher.

When I drag out midi "All Tracks", every note is C3. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I realized you have to set it in the Pitch tab. However, I'm having to set each Step's pitch manually which is tedious. I don't see a way to set the tracks pitch sequentially. Clicking random on the pitch tab does nothing. Custom range does nothing. Either I'm doing something wrong or there's some bugs that need to be worked out. Locking the MIDI outputs in the settings is useless cause it resets when you change presets.
