I think you need more keyboards. ;) (Nice!)
I've added more since that picture, lol!
Shut up. I hate you.

I'd be extremely surprised if he's ever spent more than 5 minutes looking at any of the alternatives to Cubase. Why would he, he's got shit to be getting on with?
I wouldn't be surprised that if Mr. Zimmer needs a certain feature inside of Cubase he just calls the guys at Steinberg and there's big chance they'll implement it for him.

I can’t think of anything else I’d want to put in that space. And, yes, there are a ton of soft synths on that computer, too.
I’ll take that Obie if you need more room in front of the monitors. :hihi:
Nice setup!

Zimmer. He is just a single user. Not a company holding hundreds or thousands of licenses

Not just any user though. If they could get him to promote the new features he asked them to add, they would likely sell many more copies of it.

Get back to me when you can give us actual examples of actual synth sounds that can't be replicated with plugins.
I have the opposite problem. I cant get my original hardware synth (juno 6) to sound like the emulation software.

Perhaps we should all start posting the music we've made using software vs hardware, because surely nothing actually matters other than what comes out the other end.

You asked after I'd gone to bed and ran out of patience before I'd got up. Here's the hardware, pick anything, it all sounds pretty bad.

And here is software. Again, pick anything, it's all much batter.

Of course, the hardware stuff was all done more than 30 years ago but I did get a lot of (paid for) help from professionals. OTOH, the software stuff is much more recent but all the production work was done by me, so it kind of evens out.

Yeah, and I reckon if they ever implemented any feature he asked for, Steinberg would make sure we all knew about it.

Strangely, I was never able to memorize any of Zimmer's music. It's like there's no meaning. I think he wants it that way.
Even Carpenter nailed a few tracks which stick, though vaguely.
But I've decided to create a new style - I will use vacuum cleaners and kitchen appliances. I will pay a lot to play video on all major networks, internet etc.
There will be blood and nudity.

Success!

So it seems I'm a hardware guy stuck with software... :hihi:

If Hans Zimmer was only half as cool, as some in this thread are presuming, he would have called himself Hans Schimmer. :?
