Confirmed there isn't any categorization. All samples are lumped together and listed under Factory Samples. You have to type in "kick", "snare", etc. in the search bar in order to filter them.m-ac wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 6:33 pm It looks like there's still no categorisation when browsing and selecting samples, can anyone confirm? If so, I'll pass on V4 because it makes using the thing an absolute workflow killer.

The search completely falls flat when it comes to their expansions and files have names like 'G2_K1_P6'JiggSaw wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 7:27 pmConfirmed there isn't any categorization. You're supposed to use their smart randomization tools... manually searching for stuff is outdated.m-ac wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 11:05 pmThe search completely falls flat when it comes to their expansions and files have names like 'G2_K1_P6'JiggSaw wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 7:27 pmConfirmed there isn't any categorization. ...which makes me think - there must be some kind of internal tagging /categorisation of samples going on in playbeat, else how does the randomiser choose its samples per sound category? It wouldn't take a ton of effort then, for someone at audiomodern to add a category filter in the sample tab. PLEASE?

Does PB 4 randomly select samples from a user folder like XO drums? (without space)?

Anyone know what fixes are in the update? I see nothing listed anywhere on their site that I can find at least.telecharge wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 1:21 am There's a Playbeat 4.0.3 update - https://d3jxl5cc6pcqb4.cloudfront.net/P ... _4.0.3.zip

Have to say that after the workflow trainwreck that was version 3, for me of course, I'm really floored by this update. Workflow seems very intuitive now, no need to read a manual, presets sound great, randomization features for patterns work really well. The "AI" combo works really great as well. Export is still very well thought out (no change there).Very surprised actually, because I was first not going to upgrade. Only thing that annoys me is that probably all the preset packs I bought for version 3 are now simply included for free in V4, not really sure because AM is not really clear on this. And on top of that you can now buy 3 new expansions? Hm, not sure what to think about this. But for newcomers I think version 4.03 is a steal, highly recommended...

You can load the old expansions into v4 if you still have the ".pback" files. I loaded all the old expansions in to v4 and it's working fine.pekbro wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 7:44 pm I like it, tho it doesn’t seem like all the ver 3 expansions are contained in it, tho they are
