Don’t forget Ableton adding more modulators to existing devices which bitwig doesn’t need because the modulator system works everywhere.
Not everything is about modulators, and let’s be honest—the modulation system in Bitwig is screaming for improvement. It was introduced almost 10 years ago and has remained mostly unchanged, aside from a few minor additions here and there. In the end, it’s not as hands-on as it could be, especially when so many things require too many clicks. And I’ll never understand why modulators can go below minimum and above maximum.

Bitwig should take notes from kHs when it comes to modulation—just like they did with MSEGs, which they essentially copied. The problem? kHs has already improved their MSEGs, while Bitwig seems content to leave theirs untouched forever. This is a recurring issue with Bitwig: they introduce a feature and then abandon it. But the world evolves, and they should too. They can’t milk the same cow forever—especially when, in the end, their ‘cow’ turns out to be a bull…

What the hell are you talking about. They haven’t reworked it because it’s simple and it works. It’s not “screaming for improvement”, what does that even mean? All you’ve said is it could be more “hands on” which is so vague it’s meaningless. No idea what you’re talking about regarding MSEGs either, they seem to work fine.

I use all of these features all the time and they work great.

I’ve given you a good example to look at—kHs modulation. That’s how it should be. If you enjoy clicking endlessly, that’s your business. Bitwig’s modulation system somewhat works, but it’s far from great.

And about MSEGs? They didn’t just take inspiration from kHs—they copied them one-to-one.

But yeah, you just another blind fanboy and fanatic. I can explained things to wall faster than to you. Into ignore list. Off you go!

I bet you couldn’t wait to get back to calling people fanboys and fanatics.

I'll say the same thing I've said since the roll out of the Grid: please allow us to control oversampling. Audio rate modulation on it sounds like 2005. I'd use it a lot more if it were up to par with something like Reaktor, where you can choose a sample rate based on how much quality you need.

So you’re complaining that it’s both not enough like kHs and too much like kHs. And to you clicking to create mseg points means it’s “screaming for an update”.

If pointing out how ridiculous that is makes me a fanboy then so be it. But you’re not a serious person.

FFS… Bitwig copied kHs MSEGs when they weren’t that great, and since then, Kilohearts has significantly improved theirs. But because it’s Bitwig, users are stuck with a mediocre version that likely won’t ever get updated.

“Not serious” is when a program has so many areas that need improvement, yet instead of addressing them, Bitwig keeps spitting out more and more devices—especially simple drum devices that eat CPU like there’s no tomorrow. That’s what makes them feel “not serious” as a company.

PS: You’re probably not rad enough to get this, but I’ll try to explain. Nowhere did I say that creating envelope points bothers me. What does bother me is that getting to the envelope curve takes two clicks—one to open the mod, another to open the editor. And if I want to assign a mod? Click. Deactivate it? Click again. There’s no clear visual representation of what modulates what unless I either click on the mod or dig through the inspector list—how do I get there? You guessed it: click. Bravo. Instead of making music, I’m sitting here testing my mouse. If you’re happy with that, good for you. I see room for improvement.

The cpu consumption of the drummachine devices will improve according to Bitwig tech. But why on earth are you so rude and full of anger......if you could lower your temper maybe people would listen better to you!

I match the attitude and temper I receive. Some people here resort to attacks and abuse the moment they hear any criticism of the program.

Because you can’t take criticism towards the program? Because someone dare to say anything other than “what a great update!”? Typical.

Your comment about the CPU usage/consumption of the drummachine devices is right it is ridiculous at the moment some drummachine presets consume more then some Pigments presets. This is crazy how can simple drum devices consume so much of your cpu.

I sent my experience to Tech support and they say they are working on it.

I’d be willing to bet all bitwig built-in devices are 4x oversampled like the grid which would explain why bitwig devices have a reputation for high cpu load. Just speculation on my part though.
