It's fantastic. You can start off with broad strokes and then refine it with the remix randomisation. You can build up a pretty comprehensive bank of patterns really quickly using this method.

Personally I've found it works best using it to drive another plugin like battery or any other drum synth/sampler that doesn't have a sequencer
I haven't found a way to lock the pitch. Any use of the random button, also randomizes pitch which means it is no longer correctly driving an external plugin.

Unless I am missing something, it is 100% useless for external instruments.
If you use the midi output setting it locks the pitch to a fixed note output trigger.

Although I've noticed that there are overall weird issues with midi output.

Doesn't lock it for me. Including activating "Lock MIDI Outputs"

I can only use Playbeat and a plugin drum machine by manually creating patterns and not using the randomize controls.

I'm on a Mac. You?

I'm still on V3 but I find that if I have the random mode set to the 5 dice icon then it respects the things I set to locked when randomizing. 'Remix' mode seems to just say screw you and change whatever it wants.

Okay, midi lock is working for me with 4.0.4. I can load presets and the pitches stay as assigned. I can also use the randomize function and pitches stay as assigned. :tu:

Good job devs!

Midi Export is still not correctly dealing with different individual track timings.

Honestly, these guys (Audiomodern) must have the worst beta testers in the world. I know there's always bugs that will get reported and require hot fixes after a release, but good god. Some of these bugs are fundamental features that literally ANYONE should have caught in the first hour of the first day of beta testing. I offered to beta test for PB4, and they never responded.

It's been out for 1 week and there have already been 3 updates and a bunch of fixes. Pretty damn good IMO.

Or pretty damn buggy release abusing paying customers as beta testers... :tu:
Same situation just a different POV

The thing is...

It hasn't been a pretty damn buggy release. I know very well what those are like, and this isn't that.
It hasn't crashed
No weird instabilities
The main purpose of the plugin has worked fine. (just not the part I wanted to use)

And 7 days to get a relatively few bugs fixed is a fast developer response.

Hello!
There is Version 4.0.5 and undo/redo is broken - Win Standalone and VST3 in Cubase.
Can anyone confirm?
Thanks
Cubase Pro 15 - WIN11 - Soniccore XITE-1

is unfortunate indeed imo. Clearing them manually is a pain.

It’s still pretty cool with the right drum plugins.
Like Random Metal from Beatsurfing for instance. :tu:

Honestly tho, I haven’t looked at the manual at all.
It is possible to disable all of those during generation, you just have to turn off the little switch button for the section you want to disable.

Are we taking part in some kind of live coding exercise?

In general, I like Audiomodern's products. They are fairly unique and a lot of fun. However, they have been pretty frustrating to deal with the past 12 months. When they released Soundbox, they highlighted and advertised how it was fully MPE capable. In reality, it wasn't, and they had to release a hot fix about 1-2 weeks after release. How did that get through beta testing? Playbeat 3 NEVER got MIDI export right. It's a jumbled mess. And now, it's even WORSE on Playlet 4. It boggles the mind that they can't get this right.

I challenge anyone to show the world right here on KVR that this works correctly for you in either PB3 or PB4. I can create a preset in XO, export its MIDI to my DAW, and all the notes show up exactly where they are supposed to be in the exported MIDI sequence. And when I hit play in my DAW, the exported MIDI sequence sound exactly the same as it does when played within XO. Now... try to do that in PB4 or PB3.
