This was the last plugin on my system keeping me from going full apple silicon.
So glad you found the time to get to this old gem.
Thank you!

Just some very minor GUI scaling issues for this beta in FL Studio. When the VST and VST3 formats of the plugin are instantiated TyrellN6's GUI appears to default to 100%.
Most other plugins, including other u-he plugins correctly recall the previously GUI scaling value, as set from within the plugin's own internal scaling options menu.
The CLAP format of the plugin instantiates at display setting even greater than the maximum limit of 200% ... I would estimate around 250% to 300% by the way it perfectly fills my 4K display monitor. (so I'm reticient about even reporting this as a bug, since that over-sized display is actually perfect for 4K displays. Albeit, it doesn't stick when the user selects 200% and it shrinks back down to those proportions instead.
For all of the above, there is a workaround within FL Studio, by choosing the preferred UI scaling from the internal u-he menu and then "Add to Plugin database (Add as favourite(" from within FLS' plugin wrapper menu. Which is the standard way of saving third-party plugins default settings in that DAW. Whereupon, the issue described above is no longer a problem, since FL Studio will correctly recall and display the plugin as it was when it was saved.
However, as this synth is still currently in its beta-testing phase, I thought I'd let you know anyway, just in case someone wants to look into the display settings of each of the plugin formats upon their fresh instantiation in that DAW (at least) and the fact that the internal u-he GUI scaling settings appear to either not recall, or not display the plugin correctly at the previously user-set GUI scaling setting.
Tested on Windows 11 23H2.22631.4890 with FL Studio 2024.2.2.4597

Similar default setting issue here—Choosing "make default" from the right-click menu to set my skin as the default has no effect.MrJubbly wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 9:49 pm Just some very minor GUI scaling issues for this beta in FL Studio. When the VST and VST3 formats of the plugin are instantiated TyrellN6's GUI appears to default to 100%.
But if you use Bitwig Studio's built-in feature to set the default preset for a device, the information about the skin selection is also stored, which serves as a temporary workaround.
Alternatively, you can manually change the default skin by modifying the file "Application Support/u-he/TyrellN6/Scripts/TyrellN6default.txt" directly with a text editor, changing the value "THEME name='TyrellN6V3' ".
macOS Ventura 13.6.4 / Bitwig Studio 5.3.2.

I have no idea how the GUI could grow beyond 200% in FL Studio. Maybe there is some quirk in connection with how FL Studio calculates the GUI size when Windows system scaling is used. But that's only a guess.
To make the default GUI size stick, you need to set it in the preferences, NOT in the right-click menu.
As mentioned, we didn't have time to add our modern cogwheel section (MIDI learn, MIDI table, preferences). But we added a makeshift preferences section. Just click the cogwheel next to the Ctrl A/B section at the bottom right corner to reach it.
The default skin option doesn't work yet. That's one of the caveats of the makeshift preferences section.

I'll try it again with your suggestion when I have time this evening. Perhaps the oversized CLAP instantiation issue is due to my OS being set at 250 per cent? Similar to the recent oversized popup menu issue?tasmaniandevil wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 6:58 am I have no idea how the GUI could grow beyond 200% in FL Studio. But as previously stated, it's not a major issue, since there's already a simple FL Studio workaround.

Thanks for the update.
Some short feedback:
Two presets are the same ("goblins" and "power fiver" in the bumbumbias folder)
I miss the undo button.
I would like to have one or two more effects (delay, reverb, phaser)
I really liked the GUI of version one because it was simple and clean.
There are presets from Michael Cavallo, Kevin Schröder and Matt Bowler.
Maybe you can ask them and then add them and not them to the factory content.

The new factory library does not include a bumbumbias folder.CapDan(X) wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 10:01 am Some short feedback:

As mentioned in the first post of this thread, if you are on Window or Linux, please delete the old factory library before installing the update, as the installer cannot remove the old library.

Yea, you're right. It's not the right folder (I had selected bumbumbias as author in the preset browser). The presets are in the 02 Leads folder.tasmaniandevil wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 11:08 amThe new factory library does not include a bumbumbias folder.CapDan(X) wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 10:01 am Some short feedback:

What I meant is, they are both from bumbumbias.

When you guys eventually get to working on a Pro version, one thing I wouldn't mind at all would be settings to control Voice Variation. I very much like how Korg handled it in Multipoly where you can independently set the voice variation level for each element more broadly, then a global Scale knob to exaggerate or diminish the effect. I'd love something similar on the RePro tweaks page some day (Global Detune is already a scale knob - would be cool to be able to set depth levels for the various aspects Global Detune controls). This is a nice balance between speed and ease of use.Urs wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 2:24 am Yeah, it would exactly need Lyrebird and Drench. It also needs the voice management in ACE/Bazille/Diva/Hive which steals voices in a nicer way than anything else I know (set Hive to 4 voices, hold a chord with your left hand, play a melody with your right hand, observe how the chord always persists while most other synths drop a note or two).
I would also add less aliasing distortion (mixer, filter), better oscillator bandlimiting, and possibly some better filter in the first place, based on modern analogue modelling as opposed to my early steps back then.

Thanks for the update! And thanks to Viktor for refurbishing the factory library!
What I have noticed: I cannot scale the GUI to 160% anymore.
150% seems to be the maximum, the other sizes are greyed out.
So far, I have been able to choose all the sizes up to 200%.
Why's that? Can I change this behaviour so I can select 160% again?

This is a feature. It shows you the sizes that fit your screen, and it greys out the ones that exceed the size of your screen.e-musician wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:56 pm Thanks for the update! And thanks to Viktor for refurbishing the factory library!![]()

Apart from the oscillators, that looks pretty similar to how it is in Diva. It doesn't have a global knob, but I think the ability to re-randomise variance patterns is crucial in some cases.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:19 pm This is a nice balance between speed and ease of use.
That said, we have no clear concept of a "pro version", but there was a time when one was requested fairly often. I guess that happened a lot when Apple silicon came up, but I seem to remember this from way before. I think we should give it a shot, but I can't yet say which features exactly we'd add. We do not see an "XL" version with a flood of new features, we rather see it as a chance to add Hive-style ModMatrix options and improved algorithms. Drift/Variance may be a good thing though.

I checked the preferences and I don't see a way to make the GUI size stick. I'm in Ableton Live 12 using the AU, and I adjust the UI to 120%, but then every time I open it it's smaller again. Tried setting it to default configuration after scale change but still didn't work.tasmaniandevil wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 6:58 am I have no idea how the GUI could grow beyond 200% in FL Studio. Is this what you mean isn't working yet or is there a way I'm missing? Didn't see anything in Tyrell cog preferences.
