Some of the recent devices use a lot of CPU. Lots of the older ones are light on CPU. Dynamics for example is very light on CPU. I just quickly put 300 instances of it on one track and I could have easily doubled that and still had plenty of CPU.coroknight wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 12:17 am I’d be willing to bet all bitwig built-in devices are 4x oversampled like the grid which would explain why bitwig devices have a reputation for high cpu load. Just speculation on my part though.
Let‘s speculate about 6.0

I'm pretty surprised that 7 people agreeing with this was sufficient to get him suspended. I looked through the posts and I'm not seeing anything that warrants suspending his account.
All I see is that he annoys some people. And to be fair, what he said about giving as good as he gets is true when you read through it all.
Maybe there was a post where he told someone to kill themselves or DMd someone with obscene pornography or something. I don't come here often enough to track everything. But from what I see his major crime was pushing back against the usual Bitwig fanboys.
Pretty sad state of affairs when speech is suppressed. I would speak up about similar things anywhere I see that. I would hope others would too.
And this isn't the first time the mods on this forum have banned people for voicing criticism against Bitwig. There is a clear track record.
That is not a good look.
In any case, to his point, he is right that there is a lot to be concerned about with Bitwig. You have to be blind not to see and feel something is off. Very low energy vibe coming from them the last few years with many issues left unresolved, misaligned features and lack of customer focus. A lot of people know this is the case, whether it is convenient or not.
Okay, well good luck with the silencing people and all that. Whatever floats your boat I guess. And as for vroteg, I'd like to go on record to vote for his account to be unsuspended and an apology made, or otherwise a formal statement of what he did that justified his suspension, other than annoying the wrong people.
Have a good one.

This statement tells me that you don't know much about how to run a healthy community. You don't need to commit outright illegal acts to be a toxic community member: vroteg was a troll and not interested in a real exchange of ideas or productive discussion. "Me vs the fanboys" was the entirety of his forum personality, and "the fanboys" constituted everyone who didn't fully agree with his arbitrary opinions. His suspension was long overdue, and the speed at which things escalated again after his initial ban ran out only confirms that.animed wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 7:59 amMaybe there was a post where he told someone to kill themselves or DMd someone with obscene pornography or something.

He was gaslighted and his comments were brigaded at every turn. Much like I have seen with anyone and everyone who is critical of what goes on around here. And you are edging into that territory already with my post, leading off with an ad hominem attacks that I don't know how to run a healthy community.Dionysos wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:23 amThis statement tells me that you don't know much about how to run a healthy community. A healthy community isn't one that superficially appears that way from the outside, it is one that communicates with individuals fairly and is inclusive of their perspectives in good faith, no matter if those perspectives are aligned with Corporate talking points and narratives.
We all know that much like the Scooby-Doo meme, if we were to pull back the sheets on some of the accounts around here there would be a big orange Bitwig logo displayed for everyone to see.
Vroteg, like many that have come before him are systematically attacked by the same few gatekeepers time and time again. I'm quite certain that my post will attract the same treatment because that is easier than admitting this forum is toxic and run by Bitwig insiders and affiliated shills for the most part who's primary mission is shutting down any kind of inconvenient questions regarding the product.
There was a time when I was part of the cult too. Gradually that got sublimated as Bitwig kept letting me down when I was trying to promote it to others until I finally realized the positions I was trying to defend were untenable.
I know your methods Dionysos, and anticipated you and your buddies would come crawling out on the attack. I have seen it hundreds of times. And every single time it is the fault of someone else - it's always the ones questioning Bitwig or with even minor criticisms that are to blame. No ability to look in the mirror, no self-awareness, no empathy.
You will do what you do I suppose.

The reason why this here became a more toxic place is not the people like Vroteg...questionaire wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 10:05 am Can we go back to the topic please, and discuss about Bitwig this kvr forum is indeed becoming a toxic place
It´s the constant attack from "loyal" people here bashing everyone daring to say some critiscm about Bitwig...and this forces the people being unhappy with Bitwig into defending themselves and the devils circle closes...
Sadly none of them get "suspended" just the people fighting for their voice to be heard against all of the BS praise how great everything is... it is not!
Sometimes one must doubt if the devs are really knowing what they do...
For the insane CPU consumption of later devices or the nonsense ideas of EQ+ the devs would have been torn apart in the air in forums of other DAWs...
Here people are such brainwashed (for whatever reason) that they shrug for a little moment but already pull out more money to buy there next round of bad updates...
It´s an absolute shame that Vroted got suspended for his posts here as there were for sure not more offending than the responses he got.

There are so few comments here per day that each one becomes a precious little snowflake. Meanwhile, the Bitwig Discord is like a wildfire of messages—hundreds daily! If you crave the warmth of Bitwig chatter, that’s the bonfire to jump into.
In other words, you're overdoing it—why so serious? .. there are so few posts here that if you've got a problem, you'll probably get a reply! But aside from that, this is pretty much the last hangout for all the Bitwig fanatics. (even reddit is better with its 17k members https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitwig/ )

Nah, it’s not about “voicing criticism” - it’s the manner, the how, that criticism is voice. Vroteg was given lots of room to voice his criticism in more respectful ways, and he never did. He just doubled down on his character attacks whenever somebody disagreed with him - the Bitwig critique was just a proxy to get into a fight so he could insult people.animed wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 7:59 amI'm pretty surprised that 7 people agreeing with this was sufficient to get him suspended. He tried multiple times to talk seriously about problems and was always beaten down by the typical defender brigade up to personal attacks... THEN he turned round more and more which is completely understandable ...

I'm glad to see he was suspended. I was about to stop reading this Bitwig forum cause he makes it such a relentlessly toxic place.Dionysos wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:23 amThis statement tells me that you don't know much about how to run a healthy community. Shortfalls or missing features can be discussed in a positive way.
That guy seemed to set out to paint Bitwig as a terrible DAW only. It was a bit odd, like he had something to gain if he could scare people away from Bitwig. It doesn't help conversation when there are proportionally so many negative comments. If people want things fixed or added they can email Bitwig support, plenty of people here do. I wondered if he was doing corporate sabotage for Ableton how much he went on about it. Ableton is a good daw, but it's clunky AF compared to Bitwig.
Personally, I don't see Bitwig like he did. Even if there are some small improvements that could be made it's the most enjoyable and productive DAW I have used. I'm also aware that Bitwig is a small company and they need to plan their work.
I'm hoping 6.0 will bring a few more quality of life type feature and an even slicker workflow. Maybe this requires patience from some people, but I'm quite happy making music with Bitwig and don't really feel the need to even always be on the latest version.

vroteg seems like such an unhappy person imo. Who knows why, but that's beside my point. I really do not get why vroteg was here. It's like he hated Bitwig more than he liked it. He did not have much love for the developers, or the fans either. I mean you don't have to, but why tell everyone all the time? Just saying, I've never gone to, pick a DAW's forum, to express how much I don't like the developers, their fans, and x,y,z in the DAW as a regular activity. Weird stuff imo.
I mostly did not engage with him. I did recommend he move on to another DAW. Just because he seemed really unhappy about Bitwig. Not sure If I did that directly, or indirectly. Anyway, dude is a serious downer imo.
Anyways, looking forward to 6.0. If just to see what they do with the arranger and piano roll. Hope it's upgrade worthy, for me. Would be cool if they integrate a full featured sequencer. Yep, still want one. At the very least give me a simple midi drag and drop from Stepwise to speed things up. They can slap it right under the folder icon on the bar, or above the wrench, that would be fine with me.

One thing above is perhaps true, while maybe less community Reddit and perhaps discord are probably good place to look for things
Just saw a link to this, in relation to polymer, not seen this before but it's a cool UI for wavetable sharing and generation

It's perfectly possible to criticise Bitwig without needing to have the last say all the time, or accusing anyone that disagrees a shill or deluded.
I'm glad he's no longer pissing in the pool.
