The problem is it doesn't sound like a classic reversed cymbal. Even with an additional filter sweep (like you did). It sounds like air sucking through a hose or something, sounds synthetic.
It does though sound interesting, and the technique itself has a lot of potential. But just reversing a cymbal sample would be much more lush and natural.
