Something seems really screwy with your file. FinalMixTraction.vst is not a folder, its a package. You shouldn't be able to simply double click and view its contents (unless you have some third party hacksy or something like that...but I digress). What did you use to unzip it? Maybe try downloading again?thisdude wrote:I'm not sure if this qualifies as a bug, but I can't get Tracktion to recognize it. FM shows up as a "file to ignore". I've re-scanned, purged and moved the plugin directory around, but still no go. OSX 10.2.8 with most recent NFR Tracktion.![]()

The _MACOSX folder contains a similar structure to (what I'm assuming is) the os9 folder, but the preset folder is empty and the FinalMixTracktion.vst file is a folder with more directories. Is this by design? I've never seen that before. I've tried the entire unzipped directory and every permutation of sub-folders with no success of tracktion recognition. Is this why it's a beta or am I doing something totally stupid?
Your folder struckture should be as follows:
- VST (folder)
- Final Mix Tracktion Mac Beta (folder)
- FinalMixTracktion.vst
Final Mix Presets (folder)- Factory Presets (folder)
- Lots of factory presets files with .vfi extension
- Factory Presets (folder)
- FinalMixTracktion.vst
- Final Mix Tracktion Mac Beta (folder)

It's sure taken a while but I'm grateful it's finally here. I don't own any mastering plugins so I find Final Mix very relevant for my needs. No problems here yet, good work Mackie.

Screwy indeed. The zip file I d/l at 4pm was 2,842,708 bytes, but the zip I d/l at 9pm was 2,843,397 bytes. The newer file also had the same bizarre directory structure:Something seems really screwy with your file. FinalMixTraction.vst is not a folder, its a package. In any case, it loads now if I only copy over the Final Mix Tracktion Mac Beta folder. I'm using Stuffit Expander 7.0, the one that came with OSX10.2 and no hacky warez things either.
Looks like it's going to be a long night. Thanks.

I have thoroughly enjoyed testing Final Mix; it is everything I could wish for in a mastering plugin ( I used to use T-Racks in OS9 ) and will be in my mixdown rack for the foreseeable future.
Beno, you and your team deserve a pint the next time you're in town.

I think it is actually the same as with the pc version: presets are remembered but not their names.Lunch Money wrote:So...
Do the presets work in the Mac version or wot??

But the preset cursor works fine.

Lunch: I have the same experience as frankvg describes. The saved preset loads and works, but the name does not change; I didn't regard this as a bug.

Awesome! Now I can mess with mastering my mixes when I'm supposed to be working at the office! I work on a PC at home but use a Mac at work. Since I'm never happy with my 'final mix' and like to make many versions and listen on different gear, this enables my neurosis. Thanks Mackie!

thisdude, you must be using something prior to mac os 10.3.x. 10.3 introduced a new form of zipping that can store mac resource forks. what you are describing is what a windows (or mac prior to 10.3) user would get when unzipping a mac os 10.3.x zip file. i know the latest version of stuffit expander (9.0.1: part of stuffit standard) is capable of correctly unzipping the new format. you might want to try upgrading to that...
btw, thanks a lot! can't wait to try it out!
