Ok dumb question here.
I have some midi tracks recorded in Tracktion. All works, plays fine.
I select a track. Select Export...AS Midi.
Set the directory where it is to go.
Hit Render....Render progress bar does its thing goes to 100% and closes. My midi file is now saved right???
Wrong I can't find the .mid file in the directory where it is supposed to be. Using the search function in XP it finds a file in the "recent" file list with a .mid extension but it is not a midi file it is a shortcut to nowhere since the file is not there.
What am I doing wrong?

Yep bracketed the entire midi track. The track is selected (highlighted). The file name is the set as the "name of the track.mid" The path is pointing to the project directory.
As I said the render dialog runs normally the progress bar moves from 0% to 100% and closes.
Takes about a minute or so to do a ~10 minute track.
Just no midi file to be found anywhere.
It is kind of irksome but not a project killer since I usually only use track midi files to annotate in NoteWorthy and print the score.

The back of my mind is telling me that you need to remove anything from the track that would "eat" the midi data, like a vst synth or similar. Try exporting them ...
I'll admit, i haven't tested this, but i seem to remember it as a bug from way back

Not so much a bug, just unconventional: only MIDI that emerges at a MIDI out gets included..

Thank the midi gods I found this thread. This was giving me such a fit. I love my newly acquired Tracktion, but I was ready to put the boot through my screen.
Wonder if there's a fix for this in V2?

I'm glad this came up before I started trying to export .mid files: thanks chico & ears.
A bit off-topic, but does anyone know where I can download some good Dub Syndicate MIDI files?
