Considering going Mac soon since I need to replace my PC. Wondering how well WF runs on it?
Any issues I should know about?
Does Waveform use performance cores only or can it also use the efficiency cores?
I was surprised to find that Logic only uses performance cores.
I’m sure the Mac will more than do anything I need either way.

According to Google Ai.

Yes, Tracktion Waveform 13 is designed to utilize both performance cores (P-cores) and efficiency cores (E-cores) for optimal performance, especially on modern processors with such architecture.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Modern Processor Architecture:
Many modern CPUs, including those in Macs and PCs, feature both performance cores (P-cores) for demanding tasks and efficiency cores (E-cores) for background tasks and power efficiency.
Waveform 13's Design:
Tracktion Waveform 13 is designed to leverage this architecture, allowing it to utilize both types of cores for audio processing and other tasks.
JUCE API:
DAWs that utilize the JUCE API, like Waveform, can benefit from features that enable more reliable processing of tracks across multiple cores.
Audio Workgroups:
DAWs that use JUCE API like Tracktion Waveform will probably need to have this audio workgroups feature enabled too to enable more reliable processing of tracks across multiple cores.
Optimized Scheduling:
The software can intelligently schedule threads across both P-cores and E-cores, improving both worst-case peak and average CPU load on the main audio thread.
Mac Specifics:
On macOS, setting a thread priority in the 0-9 range might restrict it to the E-cores, potentially resulting in lower performance.
