In case you have not noticed, according to their "privacy statement", Scaler reserves the right to extract personal sensitive data such as your political preferences, beliefs and sexual preferences etc. You can not opt out.

This to me this is absolutely repulsive.
I think Scalermusic has some explaining to do.
wondering if they write something like this in their privacy statement, what has Scaler 3 to do with these topics? if someone plays specific chords will it be presented as some sexial preference? :D

or does the app scan your data or whatever? this is even more interesting. you can read that there is Microsoft planning/already doing? stuff like scanning your word, excel files etc. i dunno if this is already rolled out but there were some plans afaik.

Can you copy paste the exact privacy statement here? It seems more like gdpr management than a real point from them.

Sometimes you will see companies preventing you to put some political/sexual orientation data in their system. This is just because as per EU rules, they needs to be managed with extra privacy measures that can be very expensive to implement. As such, often small companies prefer to manage it with a legal clause to say "don't put these kind of data on our system, we are not ready for it".

Here is the link to the complete privacy policy:

What is absolute inacceptable for me is this part:

To me that's normal.

They are just saying that they will not collect sensitive data....
They are keeping an option because for example in support discussion maybe somebody during the discussion can mention about it's political or sexual orientation and it can he a problem for the company.

I can give you an example from my work. I am IT manager for corporate banking and we build a big payment ecosystem.
As per regulations, I can store payment data on the cloud provided that they are encrypted. If these data become "sensitive personal data" as per EU regulations (sexual, political), then I will need to have far more complex encryption and invest 10th of millions to do that.

That's why we aim to prevent user to enter these kind of information....

A user on Reddit posted about one unfortunate change in Scaler 3 that specifically affects Ableton users. With Scaler 2, you could sync all instances in a project so they would play in the same key. With Scaler 3, this seems now to work through one instance and MIDI channels.

A workaround with virtual MIDI cables has been posted:

Thanks for explanation, so in general agreeing to this policy (which you have to do to make an account) does not mean general agreeing to collect the sensitive data ? Even if this is not the case and they will have to ask for permission to collect this data I wonder what all this has to do with a simple plugin ? I mean a forum is another thing, but for to buy and use the plugin ? And maybe it is just coincidence but as with scaler 3 you now need an account while all my other products from them could be directly get from PB....But definitely good to know that the passage itself is not so uncommon.....

That was probably the best feature of Scaler 2
Did they really? I've seen in the tutorial videos there's no chord display like in Scaler 2 anymore, but thought maybe they just moved it to somewhere else.
That's how I used Scaler 2 the most, just to identify the stuff I'm playing during improvisation

EDIT: Found the answer in the Scaler Forum:
"Just didn’t make the cut - was next on the list I promise. It’s coming. I want it back to. Let’s hope for it in 3.1 soon!"

It will be nice when they add that back in, but overall I'm enjoying the new workflow. It took me a bit to get adjusted to the new layout, but I am able to throw things together a lot faster now than I could in S2.

I had a couple of bugs (at least I think) - One, I dragged a chord progression out to Bitwig and one of the chords overlapped the next one for the whole duration, and two - I transposed some chords in my progression up an octave, but at one point I played through the sequence and they were pitched down again, even though the parameters hadn't changed.

stupid question, in captain chords you can choose the corresponding chords selected in the scale. is it also possible with scaler 3? i dont want any artist chords and mood chords, just the circle of fifths and select a scale and see which chords are corresponding and not out of place and build my progression.

I don't use any of the artist/genre presets. I play a couple of chords in and choose the key/mode, it shows you the standard diatonic progression, then I go to the colors page and play with variations (extensions, inversions) and build a progression I like from there. You do also have the circle of fifths as an option, as well as modulation to other keys.

So Standalone does NOT support ASIO drivers. Hotfix needed

awesome sounds great!
i used a few times captain chords but it seems it cannot play in real time the chords like in scaler to click on these and hear them you always have to wait in the playlist. scaler + 3rd party vst sounds awesome so you can already preview chord (progressions).

Well - I have a different problem. I own Scaler 2 that I bought on the Plugin Boutique website. I used the same site to upgrade to Scaler 3, and got the download and a "serial number". However - In stead of just using that serial number I now have to create a account on the Scaler website, and use that number to get the REAL serial number. Not something I like to do but whatever.

However - After creating a account I should get a mail message to activate that account. And you guessed it - No mail at all. I also controlled my spam box, but I have never received that activation mail.

So - Now I have payed for that Scaler 3, but cannot use it because I cannot get the serial number because I am unable to log in. I am already waiting for several hours now. I am not pleased at all, and wonder what the hell is going on! Why do I cannot get a serial just as I got with Scaler 2, and have to take all these extra steps to register?
