The IRCAM ASAP plug-ins have been updated to 2.0.0.

The Formant Shaping plug-in is now free (in addition to Spectral Remix and Spectral Clipping). Although in my testing, on Linux the free plug-ins all spawn a small empty Authorise window in the top left of my screen. This wasn't the case with previous versions and it doesn't happen on macOS.

The downloads have ballooned in size as there's now some kind of ML model included.

Now that all my UAD plugins have successfully migrated to iLok machine and are updated, can I uninstall UA Connect and UA Helper Service, and then reinstall later this year if/when I want to update my plugins?

Unless it is uninstalled using something like Revo Uninstaller, which cleans up all files and traces. In that case, UA plugins would ask to install the UA connect again.

FWIW, I'm mindful of what is running on my PC -- even the stuff you can't see in the background. With UA Connect, I just disable it in Startup via Task Manager. When I run it to check for updates, I close it out using the icon in the System Tray. I haven't found any unexpected behavior.

I do think it's a bit shady when developers run apps/services on startup without permission or notification.
