How many times can the serial number be used for personal reinstallation. For example, I will be trying to use it from Linux with WINE, and I may have to experiment with it until I can figure out what WINE needs to make it run. That might include deleting the VM and restarting a few times.kv331 wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 4:56 amYou can request your serial number/license key file from below:whassup wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 12:38 am Sorry, if this (for sure was) answered already somewhere:
Is it possible to install SM3 completely offline?

We don't have a hard limit on that. So, no worries. But that doesn't mean we are not doing any checks on the server. If the server detects too many activations recently, it emails our team.audiojunkie wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:07 pm How many times can the serial number be used for personal reinstallation. Sounds good. So we could also archive in our backup drive the installation and serial number, and reinstall it from there at a later date, right?kv331 wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:46 pmWe don't have a hard limit on that. Yes, you can archive the setup / license key file and use them later on.audiojunkie wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 5:02 pm Sounds good. So we could also archive in our backup drive the installation and serial number, and reinstall it from there at a later date, right?

If it’s not too much work, I’m pretty sure there are a lot of Linux users who would love a native version of SynthMaster. I’d be willing to bet you’d get a lot of sales from that. There’s not as much competition, and Linux users are hungry for more synths and samplers.

i've made some presets with beta and some of them have problem playing with 3.1.1 - whatever key i press ,play just one note...could send to developer few presets with same problem for testing...
Usually i wouldn't even bother to discuss this, just one of these presets is really interesting as example, that modern synths need at least 4 osc and 4 filters,so to sounds lush and be called modern...
Anybody with such problem...?

Unfortunately SM3 still has problems when loading SFZ files and crashes when you try to load SFZ files that use note numbers instead of note names (eg: "54" instead of "F#2"). If the SFZ files use note names than SM3 loads those files just fine.

SynthMaster does not recognize/parse numeric values as note numbers. but if that's causing crash, can you please send me those wav files so I make sure it doesn't crash?KTlin wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:50 am Unfortunately SM3 still has problems when loading SFZ files and crashes when you try to load SFZ files that use note numbers instead of note names (eg: "54" instead of "F#2"). So I spent more than three hours doing tons of tests with the SFZ files and here's what I found:
But there are a couple of issues:
1. It maps those notes one octave higher than it should. The note numbers 36, 37 and 38 should be mapped to C1, C#1 and D1 but SM3 maps them to C2, C#2 and D2 respectively.
2. I'm using the Bjoerns Sample Mapper to create SFZ files which is a very nice and feature-rich free SFZ editor/generator but it doesn't use the pitch_keycenter opcode to define the root key, instead it uses the key opcode which unfortunately SM3 doesn't understand and as a result it sets the root key for all the samples to C4.
3. Also, the Bjoerns Sample Mapper doesn't use the lokey and hikey opcodes IF those are the same as the root key and instead it just uses the key opcode. For example, instead of "pitch_keycenter=36 lokey=36 hikey=36" it just uses "key=36". Consequently SM3 ignores the key opcode as it doesn't understand it and maps all the samples to the whole keyboard range and sets the same root key (C4) to all of them. And this seems to be the cause of the crash, BUT the crash happens ONLY when there are more than 8 sample files define in the SFZ file. If there are 8 or less it doesn't crash. Weird.
I imported these SFZ files created with the Bjoerns Sample Mapper in a couple other synths (Equator, Serum 2, Falcon) and all of them load them just fine, only SM3 has issues with them. Can you please do something about this?
Actually it does recognize the note numbers in the SFZ files! If the SFZ is something like the following, SM3 reads it just fine:kv331 wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 12:02 pm SynthMaster does not recognize/parse numeric values as note numbers. but if that's causing crash, can you please send me those wav files so I make sure it doesn't crash?
Code: Select all
<group>
<region> sample=Sample1.wav pitch_keycenter=36 lokey=36 hikey=36
<region> sample=Sample2.wav pitch_keycenter=37 lokey=37 hikey=37
<region> sample=Sample3.wav pitch_keycenter=38 lokey=38 hikey=38 1. It maps those notes one octave higher than it should. The note numbers 36, 37 and 38 should be mapped to C1, C#1 and D1 but SM3 maps them to C2, C#2 and D2 respectively.

SynthMaster interprets Midi Note 0 as C-1, so the default middle C at 60 is C4. As far as I know, there are 2 different standards on this: One interprets Midi Note 0 as C-2, the other one as C-1 (like we do)KTlin wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:32 pm 1. I am adding support for the "key" token today.KTlin wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:32 pm 2. I know why this is happening, fixing it today. There's a hardcoded limit on the number of regions that can play at a time, and that's 8.KTlin wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:32 pm 3. Would you possibly email me a sfz that has the above issues so I can test?
Thanks!

Indeed, there seems to be two standards. Well, this is not a big deal as it can be "fixed" by just setting the pitch for that oscillator one octave lowerkv331 wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 7:52 am As far as I know, there are 2 different standards on this: One interprets Midi Note 0 as C-2, the other one as C-1 (like we do)
Awesome!
Happy to hear that you can fix that.kv331 wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 7:52 am I know why this is happening, fixing it today. There's a hardcoded limit on the number of regions that can play at a time, and that's 8.

Hi guys, we're trying to understand how important presets are in your music production workflow. Do you use them, or just design your own sounds? I am considering adding a "Preview" button to the preset browser tab, so that when you click on it, you would see the banks that you don't own and you can audition the presets in the bank(s) by moving the mouse over the Play icon next to the preset name. Do you think this would be a useful feature? Please comment, thanks!
I am also reworking on the feature set for SynthMaster 3 Player, and hoping to add more editing features in it: The tab view is not available, so you can not add/remove modules, but the track view & mix view are still available, so that you can change the parameters in those parts.

I am a purely preset and tweak person... once I can ignore completely (as in they don't even appear) banks I don't own I am fine with any change.

Maybe fix the previews in the NKS preset previewer on your website first. Quite a few of them are silent.kv331 wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 12:28 pm Hi guys, we're trying to understand how important presets are in your music production workflow. Alonso Sound Future Rave doesn't have any audible previews and BigTone Analog Basics is also missing a few. I didn't check the rest right now, but if I remember correctly, other packs have missing previews too.
On topic: I almost always use presets as a starting point, so they are important to me. But I also already have the Everything Bundle.
