It must be legacy (not "zebra" legacy tho)Chris-S wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:39 pm So, when 90% of his music is done with Zebra .... What is all the hardware gear used for?![]()

You can't write off vintage synths... you actually have to pay capital gains tax if they linger in your company assets...

I wonder if Hans Zimmer himself will receive an automatic free upgrade to Zebra3?
... or was his original ZebraHZ licence issued as an NFR only?
If so, maybe u-he could do him a solid and upgrade his account?
Just kidding. But that reminds me, why don't we have u-he accounts? I guess it works the way it is using just emails.
But it does sometimes seem a bit strange how customers cannot log into u-he for an overview of purchased products, etc. I'm sure there must be a reason, I've just never heard why this is like that?

We decided to avoid active elements on our website, such as any server-side scripts that access a database to display any form of dynamic content, as e.g. Wordpress, Typo3 or other platforms do. Instead, our website is almost completely plain HTML (aka "static"). This dramatically reduces the risk of being hacked, and we never need to update any platform due to any new found vulnerabilities.
As a result, there is no direct access of any personal data of anyone anymore. Instead, the personal data (your accounts basically) reside behind a pretty heavy firewall. The software behind the firewall picks up the requests from the web forms and sends an email when needed. With that, we think we're keeping your data as safe as it ever gets, in the spirit of data protection.
It's a simple solution to an otherwise rather complex issue.
(Note that we do not ever get to know your payment information, so that isn't stored anyhwere anyway).

(btw. after hearing about a support case this morning where a user apparently went ballistic and calls us "retarded" for not having user accounts...
I absolutely, absolutely dread having to set up user accounts for products I buy. I have a fridge, a heating system and a dish washer which I can only fully use if I download an app (one for each), register with the company and set up an account. It's ridiculous. Bad enough that my new TV wants me to sign license agreements. What's next? Do I need to set up an account if I want to use my telephone charger cable?
So for now and I'm sure forever, when anyone buys a u-he product, they get an email with the license information. That information is enough to run the software. There shall never be a need to set up yet another account on the internet in order to do such a simple thing as run u-he software.)

Bless you Urs! I hate having to share my data damn near every time I buy something. It's infuriating. Your approach is convenient enough and appreciated.
