Also this has already exist in the previous beta, but the sinewave seems to be not clean. The high frequency noise (>10khz) is reduced with lower resolution btw. And it just crashed my DAW too, all I did was opening and closing Zebralette in the channel rack.

Understood.Urs wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 2:09 pm Yes, OscFX On/Off is planned, but didn't make it into this version.
Our development focus is making Zebra 3 feature complete so we can start designing factory presets. We will attend to details like OscFX Bypass, MPE, optimization etc. - all of which have no direct effect on sound - once sound design has taken off.

Thank you, that's good to know.Urs wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 1:51 pm Update: Ah, I didn't read that this is for 4 voices. I think that's fine, it matches our measurements. You'll experience better performance once we add AVX2 support.

I don't like the current curvature select workflow, it's kind of slow and when you change the curve and click on a line the curve value is reset. In FL Studio you can right click on a point and change the curve, which is way more intuitive. Would be nice if you guys copy that but instead of right clicking on the point, change it to the line itself instead. Also I love how you changed the guides edit in the editor from a menu to 3 visualized curves, it's way easier now.

I'm sure the U-he folks will see this comment here, but there's literally an entire Spline Editor and Ux Discussion sticky thread where they're soliciting exactly this type of feedback. Might be worth making that post there if you haven't already.jtsterays wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 3:14 pm I don't like the current curvature select workflow, it's kind of slow and when you change the curve and click on a line the curve value is reset. Oh yeah, my bad. I'll post in there next time.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 3:22 pmI'm sure the U-he folks will see this comment here, but there's literally an entire Spline Editor and Ux Discussion sticky thread where they're soliciting exactly this type of feedback. If you can reproduce this, then please create a folder called u-he-log on your Desktop, then reproduce the crash, and send all details (operating system, host version and how to reproduce) & the zipped log folder to our support: https://u-he.com/support/#contactjtsterays wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 2:18 pm And it just crashed my DAW too, all I did was opening and closing Zebralette in the channel rack.
As mentioned in the first post of this thread, one main reason for this beta is to catch the remaining crash issues.

That depends if you owned Zebra2 and Dark Zebra before they became Zebra Legacy.AnaMidori wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 4:33 pm will i get a free update like serum 2 when zebra 3 comes out?

It's kind of impossible to create a perfect sine with bezier splines, or a wavetable fwiw. It took me a week to come up with a solution that is far more precise than any example I had found on the internet. As the error with a 2-point spline is something like 1/1000 or -60dB, which is similar to the linear interpolation error of an ordinary wavetable of size, say 256 samples, I think we're pretty good.jtsterays wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 2:18 pm Also this has already exist in the previous beta, but the sinewave seems to be not clean. The high frequency noise (>10khz) is reduced with lower resolution btw.
A more precise sine wave can be created simply by using more points. Create a triangle with 2 or 3 points on each edge, the hit Sine-O-Matic. This should be a more precise sine. (I haven't checked lately, though)

I have a new Mac Mini M4 arriving today! Looking forward to checking it out. The previous public beta of Zebralette 3 was choking my old 2012(!) Intel Mini!

Okay I see, I thought it was a bug or something, so I should use the additive renderer then.Urs wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 4:52 pmIt's kind of impossible to create a perfect sine with bezier splines, or a wavetable fwiw. Can you clarify this a bit? How are we supposed to delete the previous factory library? If you are on Windows or Linux, it's best to manually delete the previous factory library before installing the update, to prevent a mix-up of old and new presets.
Are we supposed to just remove this folder? (Windows)
Code: Select all (#)

(also thank you, I really enjoy Zebralette)

Great progress!, from half of the presets playable in beta1, to 90%!!!. Are you testing arpeggiation/real world (4-5note) chord transitions on your minspec? that's where I see the outliers.
High cpu usage per track is fine (<3 render/freeze), but exceeding the 100% core usage mark nets dropouts and I can no longer record a performance with live monitoring.
some patches that I'm often unable to transition between chords, or arpeggiate with live buffer sizes:
blue string theory (150% core usage and dropouts on second chord or arps)
click music box (125% core and dropouts on second chord or arps)
slapped glass (130% core and dropouts on second chord or arps)
thin strat (140% core and dropouts on second chord or arps)
Thumbira (110% barely there. arpeggiations drop out sometimes in fast passages)
Church in Space (140% core and dropouts on second chord or arps)
reproid 2 lime 105%
Is there any way to selectively do voice stealing/unison reduction/harmonic reduction/temporal resolution reduction for quiet or old voices when core usage nears dropout? I don't know if the daw even gives this feedback - maybe some playing heuristics or frequency masking aware resolution?
3600x 4.3ghz, REAPER 7 128@48khz (just under 10ms rtt) for reference, I can do 96 concurrent voices of pianoteq8 on a single logical core (48khz internal resolution).
