How does this work? Does it rotate the phase by some arbitrary amount, or does it shift the phase by a set amount below an adjustable cutoff?

Hey! Great question.

The Phase Control uses a first-order all-pass filter, which means it doesn’t just apply an arbitrary or fixed shift, it rotates the phase around a selected frequency.

For example, if you set the cutoff at 100 Hz, the phase rotation will be 90° at 100 Hz, and it will gradually move toward 180° out-of-phase as the frequency goes lower, and toward 0° (in-phase) as the frequency increases. So, it's not a brickwall-type shift below a cutoff, it's a smooth, frequency-dependent rotation centered around the selected frequency.

I want to thank you a lot for that plugin and making it free is beyond appreciation. Shockingly there are very few similar tools and somehow I find them very useful, especially for multi-mic recordings or layering drums.
The other I often use is preFix by Variety of Sound (free as well), which is my secret weapon, delaying signals make so much more than equing people dont even realize.
Thanks again, its a very handy bunch of tools beautifuly layed down on great ui, as for now after quick tests it also sound great, definitely a keeper!

Love the quality of your plugins in terms of sound, BUT for me it also strikes a perfect sweet spot in GUI meets UX.

This is cool and especially a cool freebie. So far, I have been using DMG TrackControl for tasks like this which is very similar, but Protility has a few really nice extras like a lot for which I would have to use additional plugins. It's also looking really nice and is easy to use.
