If you've got beta access you'll get a link to release notes with each of the public releases. from that:

12.2 has been in beta for a month or so, with 3 public releases so far

12.1 was in beta for over 7 months and a dozen or so public releases

12.05 was in beta for about 3 months and six or so public releases
Set Theory claim:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate.
Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

You have plenty. Get to know what you have, then decide if more is needed.

its not beginner territory, and effects are probably an easier starting point than either of those, but there's plenty of tutorial material.
you could maybe try the Max standalone as a demo to see how you feel about it, it'll run for 30 days.

i suspect most people who use max for live dont necessarily build their own stuff, though, they get it to use stuff that other people have built. and there's a lot of good stuff out there.

it work the same way of reaktor ?

Post

max4live is absolutely not beginner friendly, as least for people with no programming background and a will to suffer instead of making music, i think. Reaktor is probably the same, so you might like it :D

So many little things and timewasters to know that could make or break a device, sure there is "built in help", but it always comes down to "oh you forgot to add this little module you never heard off, tough luck", or "all you needed was to divide A by the square of a full moon", or realize data is processed from left to right, device doesnt work because i wanted my modules nicely layed out; you could spend an eternity before knowing all these necessary evil rules instead of making a cool device to enhance your music.
Tutorials are sparse, and none of them make for an interesting or coherent learning path.
Its quite depressing to try and learn this thing, unless you already a programmer i guess. I'm not.

Hopefully, m4l enthusiats and geniuses create awesome devices, that pretty much fix the bugs in current versions.
Makes it much less frustrating to wait for an update.
But beginner/idiot friendly, like me, certainly not.

A similar style, yes, but Max doesnt have nearly as much in the way of prebuilt audio components and 'parts' that you can just drop in, I'd say its audio objects are generally a bit lower level than Reaktor's Primary, though not as low level as Core is.
Although a certain amount of higher-level components was added to Max recently, ie the ABL objects, which are all taken from Live.

Max is much better at MIDI processing, though, it was basically doing that sort of thing before realtime audio was possible on anything like a standard PC.

and of course, Reaktor doesnt do video manipulation or let you scan a webpage and turn the data into MIDI notes, if that's your bag. Its a very broad toolkit, with a lot of little silos of focus and capability. (Sometimes maybe too siloed, though, eg the newish gamepad objects)

I need it to build basic synth and midi sequencer

Post

For the sequencer, maybe have a look at Philip Meyer's tutorials on YT.

bounce in place would be better off
Oh god I hope not. Reaper has this functionality and it’s a mess. Let’s keep midi and audio separate for the sake of sanity.
Why would you hope that a feature was not implemented that you would never have to use if you don’t want to? It wouldn’t affect you. Bitwig has this and it’s one of its biggest advantages over Live. Bouncing to the same track but being able to go back to original midi in that track in different clips is really fantastic and makes for MUCH cleaner sets.

I don't care for hybrid tracks either. What a mess. But if they ever add the option (I doubt it), it's fine. However, it would be nice if they instead focused on copying other great features from Bitwig, such as modulation system, plugin sandboxing, multiple projects, custom keyboard shortcuts and others.
