Nothing. Martin decided not to open source it in the end. Then went MIA again.

You could always work around this with a subhost, like Kush Element, Unify, Komplete Kontrol, etc. Both PG-8X and Synth1 work perfectly fine in them.sl23 wrote: Tue Apr 15, 2025 8:25 am I have asked if there's any chance of a VST3 version, as well as fixing that bug for MuLab to use it.
I'm trying to move away from vst2 as much as possible, but this and synth1 was always a favourite with 17000 sounds it's a minefield of inspiration! Such a shame!
EDIT: Actually... apparently you cannot! PG-8X still crashes (and Synth1 still kills the audio output unless in Unison mode) even if I host it inside Unify or KK. That's weird, because in standalone of those it works just fine!

Just as an interesting aside, I used to use PG8X as a randomizer inside Mux synths before we had the Randomizer module, worked pretty well too.

Yep.
VeeSteex will let you navigate presets in PGX8, much better, without touching the preset window.
But the way that PGX8 handles presets can make it difficult to bulk import them all.
I've got 1000 imported, but there are even more that would have to be imported one at a time.

Thats just the way it is with old Vst's.
But thats kind of fun though, to see if you can get some of these old classics running.
Revitar is so wonderful, it was worth the effort to dig around for the LEAST crashy version I could find (2.1.3).
