In case it's any help, this zip has an mp3 of that patch, but with a HPF taking away almost all the actual sound, and amplified a bit so you can clearly hear the noise I'm hearing. If that noise isn't there for you, this is system-specific indeed.

Oh don't worry, I didn't take it as insinuating. I just rambled a bit about your rambling.

Yeah, I see what you mean and I can recreate it. This is something that came up before, pretty much right after we initially released the first beta. It's not related to the lowpass filter. One can get it by drawing a spectrum with just the first 10 or so harmonics up loud, and playing a bass sound.
This might be a bug in the wavetable playback engine, or it is simply interpolation noise. We have a few options here to improve things, and there's also a list things I want to try.
Can you confirm that this does not happen with the Additive Renderer? From what I can see it happens with "Curve Spectrum" and "Curve Geometry", but only Renderer is set to "Wavetable", not "Additive". Correct?

So, out of curiosity, I ran a test with the wavetable playback algorithm that is actually used in Hive, and the noise is gone. So it's a bug, not a general problem. I'm sure it'll be fixed int he next beta, but it can take some time as Hive's actual algorithm doesn't have all the things we need.

Good to hear! And yes I can confirm additive mode sounds clean. At one point I thought it did but it seems I got confused somehow.

Mod Wheel position:
The modulation amount is reset to zero when switching presets, while in other u-he plugins (e.g. Hive) the modulation amount mirrors the GUI (and MIDI-keyboard) wheel position.
Is this by design?
(Zebralette3 VST3i, beta2)

Hmmm, kind of.
We have to reset plug-ins when switching presets. We always did.
But now we also have to reset MIDI Controllers when resetting because otherwise there were great complications in MPE.
So this kind of complicates some things with a few side effects. Unfortunately we do not have a good idea yet on how to fix the one without breaking the other.

Still not working on my system (VST3, REAPER, Windows, M-Audio controller).Chris-S wrote: Wed Jan 01, 2025 5:13 pm is Control-A / Control-B mapping to a MIDI controller not yet implemented? It's not working for me.
In the settings I assigned Control-A to CC74 and Control-B to CC71.

Did you actually set them on the MIDI table page where you define Ctrl A&B for the currently loaded instance?Chris-S wrote: Thu Apr 17, 2025 11:07 am is Control-A / Control-B mapping to a MIDI controller not yet implemented? It's not working for me.
On the preferences page you define the defaults that apply when loading a new instance. This won't affect already loaded instances, as each one can have different CCs assigned.

(in the long run we'll improve the preferences so that CTRL A/B setting and their preferences will be on the same page, so there should not be any confusion then...)

SinOMatic sometimes causes the time grid in the OSC section to fold - the last bars of the grid stretch and get hidden behind the right panel (more SinOMatic commands = more folding)
The (rare) bug from the previous version is still present: when switching presets from one to another, the MSEG carries over from preset 1 to preset 2 in “in‑between” mode, remaining active and affecting the modulation.

Check this out:
I had been moving those midpoints up and down to get different square-ish flavors. After a while it started to behave weirdly, apparently choosing previous versions of the curve to play for *some* but not all notes. You can see in the gif sometimes I press a new note and it shows the curved tops in the waveform, and sometimes it (correctly) stuck to the flat top square. It wasn't just visual either, the notes also sounded different.
