Such a cool tool for really rapid loop building! It’s pretty amazing how much is jam packed into this app, not the least of which is an FX sequencing.
I’ve watched the entire 2+ hr video demo and the tool is great as is, but wanted to see if these are possible:
1. Changing the name of the instrument to be 8 characters long. It’s triggering my OCD because the color pattern is the same for tracks but is missing one letter. I’m wondering if Apple also felt the same and wanted to give Sugar Bytes an opportunity to correct.
2. Time offset for individual steps. The Groove is a nice solution for humanizing, but intentional micro timing would help with flexibility.

Can you elaborate? I don‘t understand what you mean here.serge wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 4:28 pm 1. Changing the name of the instrument to be 8 characters long. It’s triggering my OCD because the color pattern is the same for tracks but is missing one letter.

Yes the word “Dialekt” is 7 characters long, but to stay connected with 8 tracks it wants to be 8 characters. Was trying to be funny as I doubt it’s not a renabable product.

Not sure if we talk about the same thing. I talk about the exported midi that has NO velocity variation in it in the exported midi channels, in NONE.
As I use midi out and play this threw other better sounding instruments (like Consequence, as someone admitted: 17 years old but still sounding SO much better...) I set of course the mixer values to zero so that I dont have to listen to the Dialekt sounds. But that should have nothing to do with the velocity in the midi channels, I simple miss a parameter to set this or at least randomize (like swing, humanize....but not velocity). Hope that make it clearer.

Ok, you might be right. But I still wonder why most of what I like in Consequence (unique sounds, unique song ideas) I am missing in Dialekt now ? Should something 17 years later released not at least have an equal quality in sounds and ideas ? Thats what I am really missing with Dialekt. The "easy" concept in the foreground, nothing against it (while in the background its at least as complex and difficult as any other Sugarbytes product), but toyish KI image presentation AND toyish sounds fareaway from the quality of 2008.....
Only my opinion of course, but for me a missed chance to make, 17 years later, an up-to-date IMPROVED and Adepted (and maybe complete different) version maybe that dont make me MISS Consequence....

Yes, I get that. Dialekt is something a lot of customers want but maybe Sugar Bytes can also implement some of the things that made Consequence great. They seem to be very open to suggestions.

Awesome!!!!! Looking forward to seeing that!Sugar Bytes wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 5:02 pm I will try to implement step delay (micro timing) in the next update.
By the way, i may be hallucinating but did I see that you can save an individual pattern? Was just scrubbing through the video and can’t remember if that was possible. Having the ability to reuse patterns would be great. I stick to similar genre. I suppose it’s not that hard to re-enter data but having presets on patterns would help speed up workflow.

You cannot save an individual pattern, but you can isolate the seq from preset changes, so you can switch sounds, but keep the pattern.serge wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 10:17 pmAwesome!!!!! @tatanka, one reason we put consequence to sleep were clicks in the roms. I took the best roms from there and they now live in the dialekt rom engines.
missing velocity in the midi out is true, I am fixing this right now.

I didnt use many old products of Sugar Bytes anymore, no resizing options... but support was so far always quick and found a solution when i had a problem. still sad that FACTORY didnt get the typical RANDOMIZE function like sugar bytes products have
will demo Dialekt now.

Ok, I understand. So it should be possible to get some sounds close to Consequence in Dialekt.Sugar Bytes wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 7:35 am @tatanka, one reason we put consequence to sleep were clicks in the roms. I took the best roms from there and they now live in the dialekt rom engines.

Maybe (if possible) I would really like (for a later update, 1.1 maybe, after fixing all the actual bugs/fixes) a Consequence "expansion/preset category" in Dialekt, maybe you can reproduce at least some of them (best of for example) from the roms, that would really be great.
Really appreciate the anwering and announced fixes in here, that was not always Sugarbytes-style

Users here would probably be willing to help with that, if you like. Totally understand if that's not something you can do.Sugar Bytes wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 7:35 am @tatanka, one reason we put consequence to sleep were clicks in the roms.
