Ableton live creates thousands of log files in the folder "Live Reports \ Usage"

Before deleting all the files in the said folder i had 400 megabytes of logs. those logs were not very old. The files were created in about two years of ableton live usage.

The ableton site help says that if the option "send usage data" is off, live does not collect or transfer any data.

This is not true. If you disable send usage data in the live options, it stops sending the data, but it keeps storing it. I had thousands of files. After deleting the files, the trash bin took ages to empty.
I stoped live from writing these files by removing write permissions on the folder "Usage". It's the only solution. I have found no side effects or error mgs until now and ableton live closes and opens faster.

Ableton live is full of bugs that no one notices and slow down the app. Since two releases ago, native plugs load much faster. It was stated in the change log: " Live might star a bit faster now". I don't know what computer these people are using but in my i7 4.5 Ghz it was a massive improvement in speed. Before, any vst was loading much faster than the native plugs.
The ableton team seams to have no idea of what the code does.

Pretty much all software keeps logs because they're needed for diagnosing problems, it's not purely (or anything really) to do with telemetry. 400mb is about the same as a busy web server will generate in a day.

That is so untrue. we must have been using very different software for the past 38 years.

The speed of opening /closing as it relates to storing logs might not have anything to do with what you mention.

It would likely be better to open a support request with Ableton than speculate as the two things can be unrelated.

Slowness in opening Live usually relates to scanning plugins and there are a few things users can do if running into this problem.

When they write "collecting" they mean that as "storing it in our servers", it doesn't mean the software isn't making local files.
