Hello Everyone,

We’re excited to announce the release of version 17.04 of the MeldaProduction plugins!
Highlights of this update include:

- A new plugin, MMatcher, which allows you to match your audio to an available master, headphone, or guitar analysis.
🔗

- Support for secure TLS communication on port 443 for both PC and Mac, enabling connectivity in countries with national firewalls (e.g., China), where non-secure handshakes were previously blocked.

- MSoundFactory includes new instruments along with several new features.

- We've also addressed most of the issues you reported to us.

You can view the full list of changes here:

When you start MPluginManager (which also supports TLS from version 02.00), it will automatically update itself and upgrade all packages to the latest version.

For offline users, the offline installation package (maudioplugins_17_04_03.zip) for MPluginManager is available here:

Is there any chance in the future that you'll consider Linux binaries?

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

They are Hou5 pluck, Lo-fi vibes, and Wishmaster strings

Overdue, but I have to say thanks for the Power String, Brass, and Woodwind instruments, too. :tu:

Chance dies last – there’s always a possibility. I tested it recently, and the plugins still run under Wine on Linux without major issues. We will continue to support this setup. At this time, native Linux support is not planned. However, never say never – if Linux usage among user computers surpasses macOS, we may revisit the discussion. Currently, Linux desktop usage hovers around 3% (and rises), while macOS sits above 15% globally. According to our own statistics, macOS usage among music producers is roughly twice as high compared to the general population.

Thanks! We’ll address it in the next quick update. It's not happening on my Windows 10 machine, though.

Thank you for your response. 🙂 Supporting Linux through WINE is still support, and I appreciate that. 🙂 I’ll keep hoping and waiting, while Linux popularity continues to rise. Hopefully soon it will match the popularity of MacOS. 🙂

linux and wine? how is it? I'm just bummed that I'd lose totalmix fx on linux, and who knows how much other stuff. I guess I could go class compliant, but then I'd have to revisit everything. It would be sweet though. All we need is a 10x increase in userbase. :scared:

congrats on the update, however. hou5 pluck is hilarious. did the dude have a paw in it?

A little tin foil hatting: Are we sure that MCompare is level matching correctly? I had to manually gain adjust some sources because MLoudnessAnalyzer gave different measurements. If I remember, I was getting differences of about 2 dB pretty regularly. I've been concerned about how low frequencies compare to the references for awhile now, I so I thought I'd bring it up now that I have some kind of tangible proof. Yes, it's me banging on about MCompare again. What can I say.

The issue with MSF Lofi vibes instrument crash is fixed and released.

To ensure everything works correctly, please update to MPluginManager 02.02 and the latest packages. If you have "Auto Plugin Updates" and "Auto Installer Updates" enabled in MPluginManager, the updates will be applied automatically.

Would it be possible to get an update button instead of the popup window at start up when "Auto Plugin Updates" isn't enabled? Ideally with an easy way to view the changes of the updated.

This seems to be the answer to the wrong question: it's not about what to choose, Linux native version can be ADDED, not replacing any other os native version.
Similarly, adding CLAP compatibility does not imply ditching VST or AU.
It's not about replacing, it's about adding customers :)

I've been trying Wine with Melda in Linux Debian, it works in REAPER as long as the plugins are marked as "run in dedicated process" or similar, if not, the right click functionality deadlocks the DAW (REAPER).

It's reassuring that you are committed at least to supporting this scenario. This was one of the factors that convinced me to get MSoundFactoryLE and MMatcher recently.

Thanks,
Mario
