Step Sequencer Question

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I have never programmed an MSF instrument or sound that used the apeggiator/sequencer. I want to create a sound that uses a step sequencer in which the sequence is played independently for each note pressed. In other words, if I play two notes at the same time, I want two separate and independent sequences playing back. Is this possible in MSF?

Maybe something here if you have 13 minutes to spare?

Use one of the per-voice modulators (found at the bottom of the Generator tab) to make the modulation independent for each note, as you described. Use an LFO and set STEP to 100%. Below that, you will see the button to open the step editor. In the editor, QUANTIZATION will be useful if you need to set the values to pitch. For example, 25 would give you +12 and -12 semitones (including one for 0). Oh, and set the LFO to sync, probably. Have fun

Thanks, but I really need discreet note-on events for the application I have in mind - I need a fresh envelope and a new random (at note-on) value, not just a change in pitch.

Out of curiosity, is this something you can do with 2 instances of MSF?

Must choose those battles carefully. I don't want this feature as much as I want several others.

Yes and no. You could do it but would also need two MIDI tracks in your DAW to drive it. I my case, I'll probably just skip the sequencer assist and program the notes in directly using step entry (if the sound even works out as I hope in the first place, that is).telecharge wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:28 pm Out of curiosity, is this something you can do with 2 instances of MSF?
