Speaking of samplers, I just had a thought. Beno said in another thread that nothing was taken out of Tracktion for version 2 except bugs. Well, that means the sampler is still there. And I can't see them leaving it as it was. Maybe it's another big feature yet to be announced? Hmmm, I'm curious now.

Name each lane according to the drum sound it triggers.Lunch Money wrote: what can't I do?
View velocity independently for each lane (without having to select all the notes first; just select the lane)
Set different snap values (and default velocity values) for each lane.
Re-arrange lanes. eg: move your GM shaker so it sits next to your GM hi-hats.
Delete lanes you're not using.
Re-map incoming MIDI to different notes eg; to make a non-GM drum module conform to GM mapping, (or just to make it easier to play on a keyboard)
I might think of more later..

I'm sure I remember him metioning the possibility of a plugin interface for Tracktion. If this is one of the many more upcoming features, then T2 really is going to be something special. I'm certainly not expecting it right now though.

I'd just *love* to be able to write filters that had icon UIs

If this is the line for feature requests can I make one that may or may not have been submitted? I would really like to see some browsing dialogue when selecting folders for takes on inputs. It gets kind of spastic when I'm using external drives.

man I can think of a few things that would be sweet, but they might be asking a bit too much:
acid style loop bpm matching
a quality filter plugin
a more Adobe Audition audio editing style
on board wav. editor
I would love to be able to sell my copy of Cool Edit 2.0 (same thing as Audition) and go completely to Tracktion.

Why would you need one of those built into Tracktion though? You can find any number of filters for just about any purpose you can think of, and many are free.Montana wrote:a quality filter plugin

as in resonant? 'Cos the eq filter that ships with Tracktion isn't that bad. I've heard plenty better for sure, but let's put that in context: name me a sequencer that ships with a really good, rather than just good enough eq.Montana wrote: a quality filter plugin
It's a bit like asking for a really good native synth plugin, even the big boys ship with so-so plugs, why should Tracktion at less than the price of Eqium/Firium ship with a waves level EQ?
