If you support Arturia by buying everything they release you can reduce the total cost of each seasonal update. They have a pretty gracious policy of allowing you to transfer redundant licenses after you purchase each collection. Sometimes I purchase stuff I'm not really sure I have a need for because I know I'm going to buy the next collection to stay up to date and for my support I get a lower overall cost and a trickle of new toys every few months. It's not so bad when you look at it as $30-35 for each new plugin if you stay up to date.

Any other company that came out with a plugin as good as Pure Lo-FI would probably charge the asking price of $199.00 for just it alone.
I get reasonable pricing protests, but this ones hard to knock. I think Arturia is being fair here.

Struggling to make sense of this. Spend more to pay less?Gavincoolguy wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 3:18 am If you support Arturia by buying everything they release you can reduce the total cost of each seasonal update.
How much was V Collection 11 for you?

Indeed. Arturia's pricing is very predictable - as are the responses.trusampler wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 4:29 am I get reasonable pricing protests, but this ones hard to knock. I think Arturia is being fair here.
A recurring motif is "but I bought what I have for peanuts, I get much less new stuff this upgrade". As with so many other companies, you can only get the big hit once - you'd have to wait 20 years to get that volume of new stuff. And we know exactly how to get the best bargain - wait until the next version is nearly ready. In about 2 years as a v8 owner I'll likely be able to get this upgrade for $99. At which point people will say "wait, version 12 is out soon" and people will complain the price goes up when it released. In fact, that uber-tempting $99 offer is designed to add up same price with your $199 next version upgrade. Hey, it's actually a dollar cheaper!
Further, Arturia is unusually generous by giving some product upgrades for free for older owners (this time the Augmented series) and a good amount of presets for Analog Lab to get a good flavour of some of the new stuff. More than fair.

Arturia need to make money.
If you want to pay less, just wait for the sale.
If you want it sooner, pay more.
It's not complicated.
This is the way it has been for quite a while.

I paid $99. If you buy the plugins separately as they release and then upgrade your collection you can transfer the redundant plugins that you already bought to bring your total spend down considerably. They tend to release two instruments and two effects in between collections so if you are willing to do the little bit of work to transfer the licenses it's not so bad. I consider this a generous policy and it's why I buy everything they release on release date.swilow11 wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 6:22 amStruggling to make sense of this. [/img]theres a Glitch alright, and it seems like they aren't letting the people know theres a SEM 3 Update in the archives. its not even In the Arturia Software Center. I just looked this morning. i knew something was up when i saw the Video with the New interface Verses the Old one that i have SEM V2 so i did some digging. The SEM V3 download is in the support/Downloads Manuals section. the date says APRIL 23 2025. Why is it sitting in between the earlier dates is beyond me. I was perplexed but its there to download.agharta wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 7:46 amThey seem to understand that but were saying that there is no upgrade price showing in their account for V3, which is what usually shows in these scenarios.Arashi wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 5:56 amUpdates to existing plugins are free, but the new SEM is one of the ones they rebuilt from scratch, and is considered a separate product.felis wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 11:03 pm Something strange going on with SEM. There's supposed to be a new re-worked version.
I guess it must be one of those that charges extra if you want to update it outside the collection.
ASC shows my SEM as up to date, while there are many others that can be updated.
There is no update offer for me like there usually is with reworked versions.
SEM was updated for me at the end of last year and it looks different than the new one.
I also think it's going to be a hard sell when there's the GForce SEM.
I have both, but prefer the GForce version by far.
I suspect that it may be a glitch that will be resolved.

I have 4 options to upgrade when I log in, but I still don't have an option to upgrade SEM from V2 to V3.letsgotoihop wrote: Thu May 01, 2025 6:20 pm I just Downloaded it, though its there in the support download section...you still have to pay lol. omg another 149.00 bucks ill have to through at it just for an upgrade smh lbvs
I was able to download the demo and play around with it a bit though.
It looks pretty good, but I'll wait until there's a better price to upgrade the whole collection.

One policy I appreciate is if you buy a new synth plugin when it comes out (before it's been added to the collection), you can usually get it for $49, and your next V Collection upgrade price will be reduced by the same amount, so you can get it early without paying extra.Gavincoolguy wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 3:18 am If you support Arturia by buying everything they release you can reduce the total cost of each seasonal update. I totally get that and had the same thought for myself in terms of the v9 to v11 upgrade. I was initially thinking that I'd just wait for the BF sale, but when I started looking at not just the number but also the quality of the plugins that I'd gain with the upgrade, I actually decided it was worth the $299. I gained some of my new favorite Arturia plugins with the upgrade - MiniFreak, MiniBrute, JUP-8000, Pure LoFi, Augmented series, and a few others - so it was worth it to me. Everyone's mileage will vary, of course.kvotchin wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 10:09 am Not sure there’s anything worth paying for, from my PoV. I have 8, and nothing from 9, X or 11 seems all that compelling.

Sounds demos and youtube vids of the Jup-8000 sound pretty great actually. Didn't think I'd be that impressed. Just didn't think Arturia had it in them! I am a big fan of these 90's VA's though. Underworld etc.
Had no plans of upgrading this. How annoying! I'll still wait until a 50% sale though, no rush.

I'll be getting this later. JP8000 V and SEM 3 V having release velocity as a mod source totally convinced me.
Even though I'd also be getting a lot of other good stuff, I'm not going to spring for my current $299 offer.
I can wait a bit.
