I bought Pigments mostly because of its UI, which I like. But I, too, have never used it. Pigments sounds bland and uninteresting to me. I have admittedly not spent a lot of time programming my own sounds. But if the presets are ALL lackluster, that usually tells you something about a synth. How can so many professional sound designers come up with so little?
Agree, almost all of Arturias synths has mediocre at best presets. Most are downright awful. You have to dig in to appreciate the synths sounds.
Strongly disagree - I think they have some of the best in the business including sound designers like Matt Pike, Arovane, Jeremiah Savage, emptyvessel, Gustavo Bravetti and many more. Always end up with lots of favourites from the addon packs too.

The JUP-8000 V nails the Supersaw the best I've heard in any plugin so far. Naysayers will be naysayers.
Duality without regard to physicality

It seems so. Also, it reminds us that 8 voices is enough for everything.

Looks like I'll be getting this eventually when there's a reasonable price.

After playing with the demo a bit, I found that you can assign release velocity in the advanced section.
That's enough to make it a yes for me.

The JP-8000 emulation is the star of the release, but I'm actually more intrigued by Pure LoFi and the SEM rewrite (already had the other two added instruments).

Anyway, as I said over there, I'm pretty much done with testing VSTis.
I've already selected Spire, Diva and Triton, but there was something missing. Virus TI2 and NL2x didn't do it, but 8000 V fills the gap!
Multipoly sounds too "clinical" and "right" for me, and GUI is too complicated.
With 8000 V I can dial in sounds from scratch very quickly, just like in Spire.
Triton is complicated but sounds "vintage" and low end is superb. So much you have to shave it :o
I would also add JD-800, I know it's not 100% like hardware but it's still unique.
It's a pity 8000 V presets cover mostly trance, because just like real JP this plugin is capable of many different sounds. It's a performer's synth.
Solid, clear sound, but just a bit unpredictable, dirty. Wonderful.

Well I guess that's it, good luck everyone :D

SEM V3 is a nice improvement on V2. The filter sounds better and I couldn't match tones between the two synths. The waveform dial now blends instead of fading, and there are new separate volume controls for the OSCs. Vintage dial is welcome. The UI main panel has been improved.

JUP-8000 V is decent. The Lo-Fi thing is alright. Don't care about the other new stuff. Personally not worth the 299 upgrade free they're asking for from V9, as I already have the Minifreak and their new Minimoog is a downgrade in functionality.

After noodling a week with it:
All in all it's a worthy bundle.
A lot of fun inside.

Just downloaded the SEM V3 demo, and that one can use release velocity as a mod source too.
Looks like Arturia is getting with the program. :tu:

I was looking at the new Sem page on the website and I couldn’t see any screenshot of the 8-voice programmer from v2, where you could set offsets for up to 6 parameters in a graph. It basically gave the same ability as ob-e or an eight voice to have different values per voice for a bunch of parameters but still control the main one and have voices offset from that. It’s an excellent design for an eight voice. But now I only see a voice modulator which seems to only be a single modulator ? Did they remove this?

I can't wait to try out the new Arturia V Collection 11

I'd just like to say that the updated SEM V3 might be my favorite SEM. Comparing it to Oberhausen, and GForce's, and Cherry Audio's. Arturia's just feels so....juicy.

Does it still have the 8-voice programmer? I don’t see it.

I don't see it either. No mention of it as a feature.

Shame if they removed it. That was an excellent way to do what is a little clunky in other 8-voice Oberheims with individual voice control of parameters like the OB-E or Cherry Eight Voice or Obsession. With these you’ve got so many controls visible or have to switch between layers. In the SEM V2 you have offset via handy graphs that you can quickly draw the voice offsets. Such a faster workflow.

And Arturia got rid of voice offsets? I see there is a voice modulator but seems like only one as a mod source which is nowhere near like having 8 independent sems.

Weird how Arturia remove things with new models. Like the mini losing sync and that cool vocal filter.
