Setting oversampling for all plugins

I seem to need to set oversampling every time I use a plugin, on every session. Every plugin, on every individual session. That can't be right can it? Is there a global setting or default that I can save? Because it's too much to remember to do that on every plugin on every session...

Just a WAG here, but have you checked you system default settings for sampling rate? I don't even know if you can choose one lower than 44.1kHz, but if you can and that's what's selected, that could account for your unusual experiences.

I would advise against using OS on everything. You probably only need it for distortion, and even then, sometimes it can sound different, and the version without OS sounds better. It's not something that should be on by default; it should be checked each time. Does it improve the sound?

But, if you really must have it as default for all plugins, you can set default for each plugin in the settings menu.

Cheers Jason - yes indeed you raise a good point about listening to the difference, as it does affect transients - this is not something that I always do and am glad of the reminder to check it.

Ok so in Advanced Global Settings I saw Saturation Anti-Aliasing which is on.

Is the oversampling option in the menu Smart Interpolation?

Mainly I wanted to set the oversampling just for the MwaveshaperMB and for example, as I'm using the Mflator across many projects its fantastic. But it does reset to the default every time I open it. There wasn't a specific Oversampling option in the global menu of mWaveshaperMB.

I just set it to 128x oversampling for render just now. Loaded a new instance up, and it reset back to the minimum value again. And when I set it to render Interpolation:extreme and loaded a new instance, it also reset values back to standard. So, so far no way to have Oversampling or Smart Interpolation to remain on set values, it resets back to default.

So you set the OS first, then in the settings menu, there is an option to set it as the default. That should remember everything (even loading MFlator if you wish), each time you open an instance of that plugin, it will load those settings.

Ok great, that really helped. Thanks!
