My bad, I only kind of figured that there was confusion about the pixel sizes we present versus the pixels actually used.

So, if I get this right, at 90% you can't properly read the preset names. That would be something we have on the radar, but don't know when to address.

Yeah. For UI itself it's ok for me personally but for presets names it could be better for bigger font size :tu:

It would be great if the fonts in the preset browsers would get a larger size. The UI of the instrument is fine, but when I switch to the browser the presets are kind of hard to read.

I'll second that.

One thing that bothers me when using Zebralette3 and is a regular workflow hinderance - is the long vertically-scrolling list for changing the global transpose setting.

I realise that you can also scroll the mouse wheel over the transpose panel to adjust this setting, but that (currently) is better-suited only for making small adjustments and is too laborious when making larger sweep changes, like changing the setting from a +24 value to -24 (takes eight scrolls of my mouse wheel in that one example.)

That is when the pop-up menu would/should come in handy. Problem is, in its current format, its a long vertically-scrolling list, which also is rather unwieldy at some display resolutions and scaling settings and requires multiple scrolling, just to get to the desired transpose value.

Some proposed solutions...

• For long vertically-scrolling lists like this. Perhaps, consider using multiple columns instead, which can easily display all the available settings simultaneously on screen, without need for any additional user scrolling. (as shown in the below mock-up image).

• Add some additional key-modifier(s) to the mouse scroll wheel action method, e.g:
"Shift + Scroll-wheel" = Shift Up/Down by one octave.
"Alt + Scroll-wheel" = Fast Scrolling through values

• Add "Type in Value" option - So users can double-click directly on the parameter panel and type in the target value.

More Accessible Transpose Selection List:

Less Accessible Transpose Selection List:

I hope you will consider one or more of these suggestions to help improve the current workflow for some users like myself.

Make it draggable like Hive's Izmo too. In Massive X if you drag with right click it will also snap to octaves.

There is the Key Control feature, which greatly enhances in these cases Accessibility... It does not require changing between mouse and keyboard for each transaction.

But yeah, long menus are something we need to tackle, whichever way works best. Making them draggable as an option is cool, via preference maybe, any maybe using special cursors to show what the action is. Or, in this case, splitting them up in octaves and semitones. I also want to look into multiple columns, but I think that most of our menu content won't be suited for that.

We are also experimenting with pop ups, but our UI dev/design team is currently rolling this back in at least one case.

You can already do that. Activate key control, use the keyboard arrows to navigate to the parameter (or click it with the mouse, then click next to it to close the menu), then enter your value and hit Enter.

This may sound really silly, but I hope upon arrival of Zebra3 and moving forward, that we'll all get to experience Hans Zimmers requests without there being a separate "HZ" version of the plugin. If he has new ideas, which I'm sure he will, let it be added to Zebra3 and not a separate version so we all get to experience it. I wanna hear what six resonators sound like haha.

I understand why ZebraHZ exists, especially during the hype of the Dark Knight Trilogy, but I think there only being one version of Zebra3 would be best and easier to manage. Having more than one purely to accommodate Hans just seems superfluous and a bit greedy.

(That being said, a "Dark Knight" themed skin in spirit of ZebraHZ would be fun for Zebra3)

Post

We're pretty sure there won't be another HZ version.

I'll fight with all means I have (e.g. being the boss at u-he might help) against six resonators.

I'm MEGA curious to hear what track, what patch, ended up using all those resonators. Just to see what Hans was trying to do haha
