Tested it again after BONES "review" but I still hardly find material for it to shine on. But 3 knobs for 120 bucks should be used regularly on anything

It's going to work better on harder sounds. It seems to zero in on guitar sounds, for example, and really work them over.

It's easy to overcook things with this but for what it does (what does it do?!), it's quite astonishing. If you want one instrument to really stand out, chuck this on the track - you can probably bypass other EQ, compression and saturation if you had them on. Little bits here and there on buses or even the master go a LONG way. This really melds everything together in such a way.

I like this product and have had some success using it to make sounds stand out. But it also does use oversampling and an effect much like oversampling in sonic character; keep that in mind.
I don't make audio products anymore. I sell furniture & smart products.

If you RTFM, it tells you that you should only use oversampling and the Linear Phase switch if you are having problems with the sound and that most of the time it is unnecessary. So far I have not had to use either.

It's worth trying variations of Linear Phase and Oversampling to get different tones.
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Correct me if wrong but I think this thing is multi-band so Linear Phase mode affects the crossovers, not the Oversampling (which is already linear phase by default?). You will hear a drastic change in sound with LP on.

I was only implying that it sounds "like" oversampling even if OS is turned off. It's a nice effect which I like. I myself employed a similar technique for an EQ called the VSTplug shelves which has 3x oversampling.BONES wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2020 9:52 pm If you RTFM, it tells you that you should only use oversampling and the Linear Phase switch if you are having problems with the sound and that most of the time it is unnecessary. Really? I've never thought of oversampling as having a sound.

It's changing the crossovers so yes, it does change the sound. Seems more dramatic here than switching Pro-MB phase modes, though.BONES wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2020 12:25 am Really? I've never thought of oversampling as having a sound.
It's still a bit of a mystery what this plugin actually does, but I like it anyway!

Hi guys, are you still using it 5 years later? What do you think about it?MogwaiBoy wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2020 12:37 am It's still a bit of a mystery what this plugin actually does, but I like it anyway!

I'm a big fan of this one. I'm generally skeptical of "sound gooderizer" plugins, but if they're useful and consistent enough, they just take some learning to know where, when, and how to use them. This does stuff that could probably be done with a channel strip and a bit of knowledge and time, but it's really handy when you have an instrument that's sounding dull and lifeless and three dials that will enhance it in different ways.
For me it's most helpful uses are when I make a sound "lo-fi", e.g. making drums sound like they've been sample from an old record- throw this on there at the end, and you still get that vintage sound but can also thicken and brighten it up very easily.

Yes and it is still the very first thing I add to any new project. I start with the same custom settings I've saved, which is based on the "Warm the Suitcase" preset, and tweak it slightly as a project progresses. It surprises me that I've only been using it for 5 or 6 years, it feels like I've had it forever.franksq98 wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 12:50 pmHi guys, are you still using it 5 years later? Do you use it on the mixbus? I found it very interesting when using the dry/wet and (usually) linear phase. It's like having a complex parallel chain but without all the fuss required to set it upBONES wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 11:52 pmYes and it is still the very first thing I add to any new project.
