To my memory most of the modulation stuff in AmpliTube was really superbly done. It's the reason I keep it installed. I don't use it for guitar amps at all.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 6:59 pmI just dusted this one off and while I have no idea if it’s accurate, I found it had a great vibe, and I especially liked the coloration it gave.jamcat wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 4:26 pm There’s a decent one in AmpliTube. You can download AmpliTube CS for free and get the stomp through the Custom Shop for just a few dollars.
It’s called the Small Phazer.
I wish devs would knock it off with modeling all the distortion pedals all the time and start giving us more flangers and phasers. We shouldn’t have to go to AmpliTube or Helix just to get a Small Stone or a BF-2 model, while absolutely everyone has modeled the same boring TubeScreamer, RAT, and Big Muff over and over again.![]()
Best EHX Small Stone emulation?

FWIW, I bought the original Fazortan but didn't like it enough to install it on my current PCs. It's not bad but not what I'm looking for.

We're actually looking for feedback via an open beta program for an upcoming phaser, that may be pretty much on topic here (it's modeled on a 4-stage one from 40 years ago).
We've been early adopters of the AUv3 format on the desktop, and though that's still riddled with challenges (compared to AUv2's), it's something we'd like to continue exploring. Said challenges are the reason we're reaching out in this form, hopefully it's not a problem. If you use an AU-compatible DAW on macOS, really would appreciate if you could take it for a test. Thanks very much.

Had no idea. Just reporting what I know about the one thing (their reverb on the macOS) that I bought from them well over a decade ago.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 9:04 pmDitto.Frantz wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 8:41 pmWell, the 64 bit Windows BigRock crashed consistently for me and I am sure many others had the same experience.Weasel-Boy wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 8:30 pm Their reverb is 64 bits and still works under Rosetta in Cubase 12 and Logic 10.7.9.

Amplitube has a huge variety of stomps. Two great Amplitube packs are Fulltone and their new Morley. Overloud TH-U also does FX exceptionally well but you need the full "Premium" edition.bmanic wrote: Mon Oct 30, 2023 3:34 am To my memory most of the modulation stuff in AmpliTube was really superbly done. The fact TH-U doesn't sell Phase Stone separately was seriously disappointing after discovering it...
But finally I've just heard Realphase compared to a nano using a variety of sounds. I had already checked out some comparisons in the past, and wasn't very happy with the nano to begin with... maybe the newer revision is better.
Anyway they felt mostly the same with the nano having sharper resonances with the color switch on which is super far from how the soviet small stone sounded, and also somewhat stronger than the V3 I think. But I also witnessed variation in these pedals, so it's not easy to tell.
But when the vintage synth strings were put through it, it was just night and day... I wish this wasn't an AU exclusive.

It might be included in one of the many expansions.

There’s another really good phaser that gets overlooked: TC Electronic XII Phaser. It’s a model of the original TC phaser pedal. It’s in the TC Vintage Guitar Pedal Bundle that has 5 classic TC guitar pedals from the ‘70s. VST3 and Apple Silicon are supported.

https://www.tcelectronic.com/product.ht ... Code=P0D83
Also in the bundle is TC’s SCF Chorus+Flanger from 1976, which is the pedal that launched the TC Electronic brand and reputation. These are pedals that every guitarist should have.

About the Arts Acoustic Big Rock plugin: I own it since it came out, never had a issue with the 32bit version, but when I passed to 64bit Cubase I had the crash issues some of you described in this (old) topic with the 64bit version.
But because I also have jBridge (for many old 32bit plugins that I don't want to abandon yet because I used them in older projects I want to revive), I use the Big Rock 32bit jBridged inside Cubase without issues; it worked normally, at least till Cubase 12. In C14 Pro I didn't use it yet, I've just made it load to check it and unloaded it.
Besides that I also have Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 host that still supports 32bit plugins, so I could use in it eventually.
I did a full album with the Jean Michel Jarre's classic old style with the Big Rock plugin, and for me it really nailed THAT sound prefectly.
However I'm interested in this new others plugins emulations you talked about.
I will try for sure Fazortan 2; I own and used Antresol 1 and Synthorus 1 by same company: Antresol does a very good emulation of EH Electric Mistress, the flanger pedal used by Jean Michel Jarre on Oxygene album.
I'V also Amplitube 5 CS but never tried the Small Stone emulation in it, perhaps I should eventally.
Thanks

Full Bucket FB Phaser (FREE)
This one seems to have flown under the radar but although it doesn’t say it’s emulating a Small Stone specifically, the graphics and parameters would suggest that it can do the Small Stone sound, just keep it in 4 stage mode.

Stone Mistress (FREE)
This one hasn’t been mentioned on KVR yet, and is particularly good and free, and also does the Small Clone chorus sound all in one plugin

I'd like to see Audiority do a Bad Stone / Small Stone model. The Audiority Dr Phase is actually a Phase 90 / Phase 45, with a switch to switch between the two. I'd like the same sort of thing for the 6-stage Bad Stone and 4-stage Small Stone.dubguy99 wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 8:22 am I hope Audiority will eventually do a Small Stone, his Phase 90 is really good ...
