I'm having an issue with the Waveform manual, and I'm curious if anyone else has this issue.

The table of contents is all in hyperlinks, but they don't work. The manual has no bookmarks, and does not list page numbers. Hence there's no way to navigate through this document.

Is anyone else having this issue? Watch this video I made to see this in action.

Thanks

The manual is very out of date and especially bad: there are sections where images are missing completely.

I still keep the v9 manual, which was the most complete. A proper manual reboot has been discussed for ages here, but never seems to happen.

I certainly have the same issue with the hyperlinks. Documentation is hard but it does seem like this could be better. Is the v9 manual available for download from Tracktion?

Hmm, I see manual for "11 & 12". as well as "10 & 11", plus one for version 8. I'm curious why version 9 is missing.

I downloaded "11 & 12", as it at least has bookmarks and I can get around. Overall doesn't give much confidence in using the program however.

If you need a good manual to have confidence in the program, there's unfortunately not much good news. TSC has long been resistant to making a manual. For a while they refused to have one at all and I'm pretty sure that the "current" one is primarily a third-party effort. They're an odd little company, but I'm fond of their software.

You can always feel free to ask questions here and there's a very good chance that it will already have an answer here somewhere if you can find it.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

There was talk, over a year ago, about a user-group manual on some wiki-type site. I checked in on it a while back, and nothing had been added. At all. It was basically a blank page, but I thought this was a great way to do it. Except nobody did it.

I added a chapter about Waveform on Linux, about the same content which I also added to the Waveform on Linux thread here on the forum.

I meant from the perspective of the company making the program. If you can't make the effort to make a manual proper, it's saying a lot about your dedication to the program. There's a fair amount of videos online outlining the functions of the program however, which certainly go a long way to helping make the best of the program.

This is really a secondary program for me, I'm using to help a friend have his own DAW production workstation, as he appears to have a phobia about the Reaper program I primarily work with, and generally with computers overall. He likes working with sample clips a lot, he works primarily with BandLab, but BandLab locks him out of downloading his data, at least not without jumping through a lot of unnecessary hoops. I think Waveform is an ideal program for him, especially since he can get up to speed quite well with the free version.

I however have grown to like it as well, and decided to go for the full version on one of their discount specials. There's a few things I don't like, like no external clock sync, and the no return to start and when stopped is annoying, which apparently is a "new feature" in 13. But overall it's an interesting and different approach to music making.

Updating and maintaining the manual in a Wiki is eventually promoted again, I started a new thread for this. Hope it finds resonance!
