UA's biggest mistake was not figuring out a way to monetize whining before giving away something for free

But they wanted to remove the old Codemeter stuff some time this year if I remember correctly? It's still on my system.t.o.t.s. wrote: Tue May 27, 2025 5:24 pmIm pretty sure all the codemeter junk is now out. It took a minute but I reinstalled the Antares stuff a few weeks back and dont see any code meter on my system anymore.wangeroge wrote: Tue May 27, 2025 3:54 pm Now that Steinberg's old eLicenser is finally gone, when does Antares remove their old CodeMeter stuff?
Steinberg simply told me today: you can remove eLicenser now.

If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

If you have an issue with companies selling plugins for cheaper than some people have paid for, then you're in the wrong threadAloysius wrote: Tue May 27, 2025 8:59 pm ... that other people paid for. It's not the first time they've done this.

I think there's some truth to both sides of this debate, but either way, touche; this quote wins the internet today, hats off to you, gave me a good laugh!concealed identity wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 12:33 amIf you have an issue with companies selling plugins for cheaper than some people have paid for, then you're in the wrong threadAloysius wrote: Tue May 27, 2025 8:59 pm ... that other people paid for. The code can't be stacked twice on the same product or even the same order. So what you're claiming isn't true.Kurdish Mayfield wrote: Tue May 27, 2025 7:00 pm "Or just not put a limitation on the coupon beyond one use per account. It would have generated another sale. "
A $25 coupon used twice on a $49 product means UA would owe the user $1 cash back. This seems the only way some could be happy.
"Yet it's clearly not looking a gift horse in the mouth as some may claim."
There couldn't be a better example of looking a gift horse in the mouth unless UA was giving away a horse. Same old KVR traditional "I didnt get the freebie I wanted so I'll start whining" followed by "here's how the give away should have been done...." followed by a large dose of "all corporations are fake and evil, blah blah blah"
" The customer isn't to blame for not appreciating the schemes of companies in attempting to generate sales with fake kindness."
Yes, some dont appreciate anything at all.
The code can't even be used on a 49 dollar order at all. There is a minimum of 50 dollars before the code will come into effect.
Your premise is on taking the worst possible take out of context and then reacting to that. Strawman.

I didnt say a code could be stacked. Re-read the comment.
I said you can pick 2 plugins and then use the code for a purchase over $50. I even gave an example of very desirable products that can be discounted in addition to the sale price.
Its not all gloom and doom as you would like. UA has made an effort to do right by its customers. Some folks just cant be reached and refuse to appreciate anything.

Anyway, this is pointless. The $50 minimum on $25 coupons has been there for years, maybe even decades. It's not changing.

Is UA Connect the only way to claim a license and install Polymax? That does seem to be the case and in that case I'll pass. I haven't bothered to install it for the one other UA freebie I got (Oxide Tape Recorder) and doesn't seem worth it for this either. I suppose it would for someone in need of another VA or tape plugin, but am pretty well covered in these areas.

Install UA Connect. Install your plugins. Uninstall UA Connect. I do this for almost every vendor apart from AA, NI, Waves and IKM (the last one because I still have not installed/checked everything I got from the HumbleBundle bundle).maschinelf wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 7:01 am Is UA Connect the only way to claim a license and install Polymax?
