MuLab App M10.0.56 beta for Windows 64 bit is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • Enhanced Curves: More Flexible! More Accurate! More user-friendly!
The improved curve rendering accuracy further raises MuLab's sound quality level!
The enhanced flexibility and editing comfort raises the creative power.
    Details:
Everything now is done using Bezier curves. No more separate types for wave cycles and stairs.
MuLab curves have extra parameters to create wave cycles, stairs, ...
    All existing projects/presets are auto-upgraded.
These extra flexible curves are useful to create all kinds of automation clips and also handy for building wave-shape oscillators.
  • In the envelope editors all curve parameters now are instantly editable via the property panel at the bottom. No more separate popup window.
  • Improved splitting of automation clips. (before, this was not working properly and that's what caused the curve system rewrite)
  • Also inside any envelope editor curves can now be split.
You can do so via right-click on a curve or by drawing a new point upon a curve.
  • Cycled curves can be split into individual curve points, making each cycle separately editable.
  • Unite Automation Clips: Several improvements/fixes.
  • Improved rendering of automation clips, specifically wrt. the end value.
  • Multi-Point Envelope module: The Loop Speed was only applied after reaching the loop end point, now it's applied when reaching the loop start point.
  • Multi-Point Envelope module: When a loop is used with "On Note Off" = "Finish Looping", the release speed was not properly applied. Fixed.
  • LFO Shape editor now is resizable.
  • LFO + Multi-Point Envelope: When saved into a preset file, the used grid was not saved. Fixed.
  • Audio Limiter: New TanH mode.
  • Amp Distortion: Bit more cpu efficient.
  • Clicking a loop marker in the sequence editor did not properly set the play position. Fixed.
  • When stepping thru MUX presets from a MUX editor and the loaded preset contains racks, the editor could go wrong. Eg. Scope-A-Lay. Fixed.
  • Modulation Monitor was not showing negative values. Fixed.
  • Changed "DYNAMICBASE" build setting now makes Synth1 and PG8X and possibly other older VST2 plugins compatible with MuLab.
  • Other small improvements.
Note that this is a freshly baked beta version and especially the curve system has undergone a serious overhaul, a full month of heavy (re)coding. Looking for testers!

Thanks for the hard work and all the fixes! :tu:

Quick testing of curves seems good :tu:
I have an issue with a filter though. It's the 2P Multi-mode Filter Module.
When I enable it, the audio signal seems to pan much more to the right, when disabled, the panning is more central.
This is the only part of the signal chain that seems to affect the signal this way.
Would you be able to check this please.
Thanks.

Please share a tiny simple project that instantly repeats the issue when clicking play, and with the metering.

Ok, here's a simple Mux featuring the issue:

It contains only the essentials for the Oscillator to perform correctly.
Adjust the Gain to suit. Switch the Lowpass filter on and off to see the difference in panning.

Nothing todo with the filter, it's cause of the oscillator layering, the left & right layers are phasing and creating variations in the stereo image.
If you switch off the layers and only keep 1 you will see how it works.
If you would give the layer Free Phase you will also see it's varying.

Ah ok, thanks

That's a great update!
The little animation on LFO
More control and better usability on automations! stairs are great! :hyper:

This should be 10.1 8)

Just wondering, is it not possible to have ALL parameters as knobs so they can be used on the front panel and have MIDI assigned to them etc?

There are so many parameters that I could list that would benefit from this. But not only this, the ability to modulate anything with anything would add great depth too.

Post

An "add to main module front panel" option on any UI widget would be nice, in fact - automatically drop the user into edit mode on the front panel with the widget dropped top left corner for them to position as they see fit. But maybe not today -- after .56, I think Jo deserves a holiday!

Post

Sounds good, Least it would allow more front panel stuff :)
Indeed, no rush, just trying to get ideas for future possible updates.

I do have a minor issue though...
Again no rush.

When selecting two or more Modules in the Modular area, I then copy and paste. Wherever I move the mouse, that's where they are copied to.
However, when I select only one module to copy and paste, no matter where I place the cursor, the new module is always pasted underneath the copied module, which means I have to move the original out of the way to get to the new one.
I would expect it should behave the same as when copying multiple modules, ie, wherever the cursor is, the new single module is placed there.

Fixed in the next update. Thx for reporting this.

MuLab App M10.0.57 beta for Windows 64 bit is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • Multi-Form Oscillator: Crash when editing wave shapes and moving a point to same time as loop start. Fixed.
  • Multi-Form Oscillator: Source and Transform tab context menu now includes "Duplicate".
  • Envelope editors: Double-clicking upon a curve creates a split point.
  • When pasting a single module in the modular area, it was not pasted at mouse position as it should. Fixed.
  • Other small improvements.

Some convolution based reverb plugins turn the input signal to MONO in MuLab, while they work just fine elsewhere (Reaper, Cubase). There must be some input processing method that MuLab can't deal with properly? I'm sure it's an oversight by the plugin devs, but not too uncommon. Here's one example:

Magic7 - https://www.wavealchemy.co.uk/product/magic7/

Since even Reaper doesn't have any troubles with it, I'd believe it's something worth having a look at.
