Mux Presets management

Just wondering if there's a better way when managing presets that are basically variations on a single Mux set up.
I mean for example, I just tried to make a clone of Synth1, close as I could get, but if I started to mimic all those patches, when there are updates, improvements or new features added, it means changing a hundred or several hundred Mux Presets to match.
Would it be possible to have a Parent Mux, that has child presets, so when the Parent is updated or changed in some way, all the children follow suit. Is that something that anyone else would find useful? Perhaps the children simply contain front panel settings or something like that.

It surely is something on the wishlist.
Not in the way you describe (like some "auto update"), but as far as my thoughts already went regarding this FR, i'm thinking about a Front Panel snapshot preset system so that a specific front panel can have user presets for all controls on that front panel. There absolutely is a need for this, i agree. I need to find the R&D resources...

I didn't mean an auto update, just that having, say, 300 presets based on a single mux means if a new feature is added, then all 300 need updating. Whereas if they are based on a Parent, only the Parent needs updating and the child settings are just that, settings for a specific mux.
I think you got it, so I'll leave it now. Your idea of a snapshot sounds good.

This was something I made using the basic synth, nearest I could get to a 'synth with presets'
I think its in Mulib, I havent upgraded it since it was made tho.

Thanks, what I should also have shown in that vid was the way to quickly access the RND modules. Its the coloured sections at the side of the pads fyi.
