As far as I remember the Input Gain is balanced at the Output. The Output gain is used to compensate for cases where the balancing does not achieve the desired effect.

Indeed, for each of these knobs, you currently have two indicator lights: a fixed one in the top left, corresponding to a blurred white light reflection effect, and another one, the small orange arrow, corresponding to the knob’s current value.
So you always have two light indicators for the same graphic element, except when the knob is set to 10 o'clock and the orange arrow is hidden by the fixed white light reflection.
So it’s not easy to get immediate graphical feedback regarding the value of the large knobs, and this requires some slight but unnecessary additional focus.
This type of graphic design is unfortunately quite common in software synths, and I've had the opportunity to report this problem to developers other than U-He, without success so far.
Am I the only one bothered by this type of design?
(Apart from that, these new Uhbiks are splendid, thanks to Urs and his team for their hard work)
I'm afraid I'm not having the same issue with the graphics.

I moved the larger knobs (with the orange arrow) slowly from noon back to 9 o'clock and back again to noon positioning. I could see the arrow the entire time. It is a bit washed out around 10 o'clock as you say. But I find it quite obvious where the point of the arrow is at all given times. Plus there is a numeric gauge at the top for extra precision.

I believe the GUI itself is editable though if you are handy with a graphics software. I see that particular knob is located at Uhbik.data\Data\Images\Animations\Uhbik-Big-Knob within the u-he folder.
Thanks for the tip!
While this kind of editing may seem tedious to non-designers, it's reassuring to know it's possible.
The rest (i.e. 98%) of the new design is gorgeous anyway.

You could be lucky and either Plugmon or Ploki can work their design magic on the collection at some point like they've done with the other u-he products

Well, yes, but on the other hand, the current UI is already very good, so they might not be in a hurry to redesign it in their own way :)

Currently my favorite Uhbik is the Phaser one.
Its sound is truly a thing of beauty.

Ah yeah agreed - I really like the aesthetic of them all too. Actually the biggest 'upgrade' for me with these new ones is having the name of the plugins listed in full when choosing them rather than having to remember that 'g' is a pitch shufter, 'a' is a reverb etc....

Btw. we're currently working out a solution that allows parallel installation of old VST2 and new AU/AAX/CLAP/VST3 for Live users.

We also have a ticket to see and figure out if the contrast in the big knobs can be improved.

Wow, thanks a lot, Urs!

Just saw a new mastering EQ plug-in released today, "The unicorn of inductor EQs", with one small white dot on the knobs for the value, then *two* big white light reflections at 10 and 2 o'clock.
Is that a pandemic, or what? :o :?

To be fair, our knobs are not nearly as bad as those...

Has anyone reported the "clipped text" that often occurs within the "Data Display" panel at various Win 11 scaling settings yet?

The bug occurs in all Uhbik CLAP plugins (internal GUI scaling left at default 100%), in Windows 11 at 300% OS scaling*. For many controls when at certain parameter values.

* (although for some controls, the text-clipping issue also occurs at lower Win 11 OS scaling settings too even down to 200% for example, when switching the "Envelope Mode" selector.)

At this 300% Win 11 scaling setting, many Uhbik control parameters' text as shown within the "Data Display" panel become "clipped" when dialled to certain parameter values (but strangely, not ALL values). So to test it, you have to dial each Control from its minimum to maximum parameter settings to observe which parameter text values trigger the visual bug, appearing as clipped text within the "Data Display" panel .

Sometimes the text-clipping seems to happen because the text in the Data Display panel is no longer Aligned to the Top of the panel (i.e. it shifts to the bottom instead). Other times it occurs due to the text maybe being too large? Or perhaps a combination of both of the above?

See the following screenshot for some examples of this happening. You can see the label within the panel for each respective control parameter being used when this visual bug occurs.

Yes, it's being dealt with.

FYI we're trying to get out a new beta with some of these issues fixed asap, most importantly the delay volumes with old presets and projects.

We have not set an official release date yet, we'll probably do two or three more rounds of betas. In the meantime we'll assemble a new library of factory presets that also demonstrate the new features.

Known issues section, page one:
* Positioning of strings in the main data display changes with the GUI size

"Clipped text" is a better description though than what I came up with.
