Can't add warp time editor to an audio clip.

Hi all. It's been a while since I used Waveform. I'm trying to edit an old project and tried to apply the warp time editor to a clip. Nothing I do is making it appear. As I recall, I used to click the FX button on the clip, then select "add clip effect"/"warp time". Then the clip would change colour and I could then add warp points. That's not happening for me at the moment. I have "Stretch: Elastique Pro" selected in the clip properties. Can anyone suggest what I may be missing? I'm using Waveform 12 (latest version). Thank you!

Could you let us know what is happening? Is "warp time" an option? Can you select it? Does the colour change? Can you do any of this from the Controls Panel -> Loop Properties?

Is that a typo or are you still using 12.5.21?

I just tried in 12.5.21 and 13.5.2 (on Windows) and it all seemed to work for me.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Yes, I'm using ver 12.5.21. Yes, 'warp time' is an option under 'time/pitch' when you select 'add clip effect' after right clicking the clip's top bar. When I select 'warp time' this way, the clip doesn't change colour and doesn't become the warp time editing version of the clip. (Nothing happens; the clip remains as before.) It must be something to do with the one specific clip, because other clips in the project can have warp time applied, with no issues, even though the clip settings are the same as per the clip that refuses to have warp time applied.

In the control panel for the audio clip have a look at the 'use proxy file' option. If I remember rightly you have to enable it yourself in 12 for clip fx to work.

Thank you, but I cannot find such an option anywhere in the clip or loop properties control panels. Can anyone tell me where it is, exactly?

In Pro , with the lower control panel open, it is in the clip properties below the colour editor.

Thank you. I'm using the free version. That option is not there, in the central panel at the bottom of the editing window. The only option below the color editor in my version is "Loop this clip".

If Warp Time is turned on in the Loop Properties then the Clip FX are no longer an option,

I've noticed that, thanks. I'm still unable to apply warp time editing to the clip. If no-one can offer a solution, I guess I could paste the clip into Reaper and do the warping there.

I think I've found the answer. I discovered that comping had been done on that clip. After deleting the hidden comps, I can now apply warping!

You need to make sure the clip doesn't have a clip effect or Melodyne as a stretch tool, else it won't accept any stretch marker. If yes, you need to merge(bounce) clip before apply a stretch marker

Thank you. In my case it was because forgotten-about comping had been done on the clip. Deleting the hiden comps solved the issue.
