What you want to buy is a major, major downgrade.
Whatever.
my 2c, you can get everything you want from your existing synths except for cinematic.TS-12 wrote: Wed Jun 04, 2025 11:40 pm I already have Spire, Omnisphere, Serum, PolyMax, Avenger and Nexus.
but I need another synth to cover classic rock brass sounds, JP-8080 type of sounds, moog and prophet type of sounds and cinematic sounds.

By accident i am sound designerLbdunequest wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:47 pmIt definatly cant by itself, none if synth can. Sound designer can. And Serum does great 8080 style supersaws, it even has algorhytm for that.TS-12 wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:43 pmSerum is good but it can't do Classic Synth Brass well, and JP-8080 style supersaws and other classic trance sounds.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:23 pm Non of these.
Serum 2 vs Synthmaster 3 is heavy weight championship right now...

I would rather focus on one, maybe two genres. Just a friendly suggestion. It's hard enough to master just one genre very well. For Trance, you have already all plugins you need.TS-12 wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:43 pmSerum is good but it can't do Classic Synth Brass well, and JP-8080 style supersaws and other classic trance sounds.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:23 pm Non of these.

You could spend your entire life just going through presets to find the half-a-dozen or so that are actually useful and not just variations on those few themes.whassup wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 4:19 pmCinematic sounds: I recommend Synthmaster3 for that to add to what you already have. The complete bundle is quite cheap with 7500 presets and tons of them are really good.
yes, it sounds pretty decent - the UI could be improved though, it's not the most fun synth to work with. it's also fairly overlapping with serum 2.DJErmac wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 4:55 pm How the heck aren’t you able to do what you want with such a powerhouse that is Avenger ? It has it all.

People like to do certain things. Some people argue that these things make sense.BONES wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 12:49 amYou could spend your entire life just going through presets to find the half-a-dozen or so that are actually useful and not just variations on those few themes.whassup wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 4:19 pmCinematic sounds: I recommend Synthmaster3 for that to add to what you already have. As for the rest of the post, one dosn't need one synth to sound like a Model D, one synth to sound like a Prophet and another to sound like an Oberheim, one just needs one really good, versatile synths that can make synth sounds. Seriously, do you think anyone can pick any of them in a mix? I bet not.
