Drag a media item to another track while preventing it from moving sideways?

Hi all. Is there an easy way to prevent a media item from moving to the left or right as you drag it to a different track? Is there a way to lock the clip's time position? In Reaper, you can use the up and down arrow keys to move a clip to another track in this way. Thank you.

Holding the Shift key while dragging works for me, if I'm understanding you correctly.
