Can't hear audio from external sound module

Waveform 11 Pro. When recording from my external MC-101 Groovebox (which I use as a sound module), I see audio coming in to the track but I can't hear anything in my headphones. I'm using ASIO4ALL as audio device. I have Waveform set for live monitoring. I have track set to record. I have to set audio device to MC-101 to get the input. No matter what I set the track output to, I don't hear any audio. I can record to the track, but then I have to set audio device back to ASIO to hear anything during playback. What am I missing. There must be some setting that will allow me to hear what I'm playing while recording (or even just trying to hear anything while setting up to record). Any ideas?

When you record, are you using MC101 as the device for input and output; and are you doing monitoring on the Groovebox directly (i.e. what are you listening through? ).
