u-he Uhbik Delay weirdness (SOLVED)

UPDATE After talking to u-he support I now know that you can right-click the preset display window and choose "Stereo 1+2". You can also use the "Configure plugin channels" in Waveform's plugin window frame, right beside the red x for closing the window.
Does anyone else have u-he's Uhbik plugins? They recently released a beta for version 2 and I have found something odd with the delay. I should note that it also happens for the version 1 of the plugins, I just didn't notice because I haven't been using them much. Also, the problem doesn't happen in WF9 so at some point something changed in Waveform to cause this problem.
Waveform and Uhbik Delay seem to have a miscommunication regarding outputs. The Uhbik plugins are surround-capable and what seems to be happening is the delayed output isn't getting routed correctly.
When Uhbik Delay is used as a basic stereo plugin, any delay with a pan value of zero does not output at all. Moving it a little to the left or right (values 1/-1 through 66/-66) will output at varying volumes (33/-33 is the loudest) in only one channel or the other.
When Uhbik Delay is put into a Rack and all its outputs are routed to tracks, it gets weirder. Here is a map of pan values to channel routings:
0 -> Centre only
1-33 -> Centre + Main right
34-66 -> Main right + Surround right
67-99 -> Surround right + Centre right
100 -> Centre right
The same is true with negative (left) pan values.
Windows 10, tested in Waveform 12.5.21, 13.3.13 and the new beta 13.5.2. Does anyone else see this, or is it only happening on my system?

Confirmed on Win 10, WF 13.2.0.
Uhbik Delay, version 1 and 2.
I did not test with a rack, but single plugins behave exactly as you say.
Have you reported this to U-he?

Not yet. I wanted to see if anyone else could reproduce it first. If it's only happening for me and also only in Waveform, it might not be worth bringing to u-he's attention.
Thank you for the confirmation.

I've just sent a bug report to u-he. They're likely to get back to me but my best guess is there's little they can do and it's more likely that Waveform is where things are going wrong.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Thanks for checking in to that.
So, which software is at fault? Waveform or Uhbik?
A bit of a pain to click that every time you open an instance. Wonder if that gets saved with the default preset?

I don't know if it's anyone's fault because I don't know if there is any kind of agreed-upon standard. The thing about flexibility is you often get default behaviours that you happen to not want. However, I will say that since basic tracks in Waveform seem to be stereo I think they should default to stereo when they encounter plugins that have non-stereo options. Also, Waveform 9 worked fine. Something changed. It might be increased felxibility.
As far as I can tell, it's neither savable as a preset nor as a plugin setting. So at the moment you need to click each time. But it's only one plugin so far and it's a delay. As much as I like Uhbik, I have so many other delay plugins I can use instead.bk wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 4:09 am A bit of a pain to click that every time you open an instance. FTR this is also being discussed a bit in the u-he forum.
