Clarity is an amazing thing...
Anyway. I feel the need to respond, er, "clarify", since I started a post that kind of went to the extreme also which wasn't the intent at all.
Knowing more and more features does absolutely make T2 the "Double Stuff Oreo" while the regular Oreos (T1) are still awesome, too.
My original uneasiness, small as it is/was, was just that Mackie was "releasing" the tidbits that seemed to only relate to Mackie-supporters/users/interested parties, etc.
I'M NOT DISINTERESTED IN MACKIE OR EVEN BLAMING THEM, ETC. It was more like..."um, are there any non-Mackie dependent 'big deal' things coming here"?
Ain't it true how communication difficulties pretty much contribute to most of the distress in things? Even in wording. One downside of these forums when people start to express more than (this isn't wrong, btw) more than just the how-to's, etc, is that sometimes explaining a point-of-view/opinion/etc, can take volumes.
One thing that is making me more and more DISinterested in the forums here is that more and more commonly in, say, a 4 page post, the first 2-3 messages will be educational/learning/helpful, then posts will just be posts about other posts and seem more to be about personal issues with each other.
There was even a "go-around" on a Tracktion post from someone who had "The Passion of the Christ" in his signature with another about the "Church" of satan.
At this point, if I'm going to stay, this whole board/forum/board, etc is going to have to go Bhuddist. And that means to only add things that will be helpful. Anything unhelpful please keep from posting.

This is a public forum Paul, and I for one am glad that there's no (or not much) censorship; anything that might not have any value to you might have value for others, even if it's only entertainement.

Ezy,
Thanks for the reply. Your words are just and welcome. But to point out the obvious, I found KVR looking for info, not entertainment. Since that is still my interest, and I'm sure of others that visit as well, if there are other more information-focused forums, they may be visited by us more instead of this one.
No one is promoting censorship - and there's nothing "wrong" with any post about anything. A guess a good analogy would be like getting a product that is different than the promotional materials say. That's all. Nothing is bad, or even necessarily "unwelcome", and certainly not a value judgement on the words or even the person saying it.
I am just commenting on the facts - what drew me here in the first place seems to be more and more lacking that. Nothing "bad" about it. Kind of like my favorite ice cream shop stopped selling my favorite ice cream.
And I'm still hungry. And when you're hungry, you certainly won't look to entertainment to satisfy that (in a literal way, ovbiously) - unless you're going to the movies and getting some good popcorn and snacks.

its' inevitable - any community built around a shared interest, be it on-line or otherwise, will eventually form a social network with all that entails.
If you find somewhere better, by the sheer act of joining it, you are effectively hastening the time that the new community becomes the thing you are trying to escape.

I'm not going to quote your whole post Paul, but the flip side of it is that you will get an answer to most technical question you might have pretty darn fast here, things often explained in different ways by different peoples.
Also, this forum is the most tolerent of newbie and newbie questions I have ever been on; I have rarely, if ever, seen a newbie get flamed for posting a question that might seem obvious to more experience users, you can't say that of most other forums around where RTFM followed by a list of injurious, degrading remark is an often read response.
All in all, this is a ressource like any other, take what you need and leave the rest.

I'm sure when T2 hits the ground, things will take a slightly different turn... you see, at this point loads of folks are bored to bits. They want T2 deperately, and spend amounts of countless energy on what it might be.
Once folks get their teeth in it, I'm sure things will return to "help", "how do I do this?", "whoah! I just discovered this feature" .. and of course a whole new wave of workarounds for things not addressed... as well as a whole list of ideas and suggestions... and the the discovery of bugs that slipped past the guard.
At this point in time, there is a huge chunk of bloody meat called T2 hanging over a pool of ravanous sharks. With the smell of a fresh kill in the water, they grow aggitated with the wait, thus they provoke each other... who's got bigger teeth, ya know.. that kinda stuff! but at the same time they know that meat is gonna hit the water at some point in time... at which point the feast begins...
I can't swim!

Well, at least it's the first few messages that are useful, not the last. No-one forces you to read past the info you were looking for..PaulG wrote:One thing that is making me more and more DISinterested in the forums here is that more and more commonly in, say, a 4 page post, the first 2-3 messages will be educational/learning/helpful, then posts will just be posts about other posts and seem more to be about personal issues with each other.
It might be worth asking yourself why experienced Tracktion users bother to hang out on this forum helping newbies at all?
Speaking for myself, if this was the type of forum you seem to want, I wouldn't browse it as light relief when at work, and would probably only visit when I had a problem I couldn't resolve..
