Is the new version 2 any different from the classic version? Obviously there's more FX, but are they different?
Thinking of buying the new collection, but wasn't sure if it's worth the upgrade?

Was wondering the same thing. If it's the same algorithms under the hood, it's probably good and solid and a nice tool set. However, I'm uncomfortable with the copy protection and authorization on these. I can remember having read on a sister site about .. uhm, concerns (being wonky and unreliable, except for reliably "phone home") - had they kept the iLok system up, this would be a no brainer for me.

I'm very satisfied with the version 2 stuff.
Quick and easy to use.
Installation without any problems.
Nothing wonky or unreliable.

Thanks for the input.
I believe the iLok is being removed from all their plugins.
There does seen to be several parameters missing from the newer collection though, do you fine that makes much of a difference?

Don't have the Generation 1 plugins, don't know therefore what's different.
All Generation 2 plugins are non iLok.

Still using FX Collection Plus and I can't complain about having too many parameters, haha. They've always been kind of minimalist, which is a good thing in most cases.

Yeah I found v1 to be quite good and actually like the minimalist approach. You can get good results quickly.
I think all their plugins have removed iLok which is the only reason in considering them.

Convinced me. But could somebody switching from v1 to v2 elaborate if the new version will be a drop in replacement for v1 in a session?martinjuenke wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 7:53 am I'm very satisfied with the version 2 stuff.

Does anyone know?
"The company are also running a limited-time crossgrade offer for those who own the previous version or a license for Pro Tools 8 or higher, which can be obtained by contacting their sales team."
P.S. I opened a ticket with support .. let's see. They can't do less than say no or say nothing at all.

Creative FX Collection 2 introduces 12 brand-new plugins, with the extended classic collection now remastered to include improvements and a new resizable UI, giving you a total of 40 FX.

I think I upgraded to version 2 when it was released at the price of $49, but that's about the price they have now during summer sale. You can get full version 2 at $39.60 at AudioDeluxe.com now if you use the code FIREWORKS10. Don't think you will get it any cheaper than that.sokoleski wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 11:07 am Dare i ask ?
