Good afternoon. I've recently purchased MSuperLooper and am running into what I think is probably a simple problem, but am unable to resolve.
My goal is to simply record a single track of one 4-bar loop, then have that loop immediately begin playback after recording but WITHOUT overdubbing enabled.
I have enabled Sync and set Default bars to 4. I hit Play in my DAW (Bitwig) and then click Record in MSuperLooper and the recording begins at the start of the next bar, as I would expect. MSuperLooper then records for 4 bars, also as expected.
The problem is that after 4 bars, the loop begins to play, but overdub is also enabled. I do not want to overdub anything.
I've tried enabling "Immediate play/mute," and disabling "Auto overdub" and "Immediate overdub" (as well as several combinations of the three enabled/disabled, just in case I was not understanding how they interact), but no matter what, it starts overdubbing after recording my initial 4-bar loop.
Like I said, I am guessing I am overlooking something simple, but I just can't seem to get this to work how I would expect.
Any assistance appreciated!

Hello, you need to enable option "Recording stops at main loop" for your case. Then MSL will stop recording that loop and starts playback immediatelly without overdubbing it.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, that did the trick! I figured it had to be something simple like that! Thanks again! I'm really enjoying this looper, so thank you also for creating it in the first place!

Me again. I have been playing around with this for a short while using your solution, and I think I may have found a bug, but I am not sure if it is on MSuperLooper's side or Bitwig's. I am guessing this is an issue with Bitwig because your solution works perfectly in Reaper, as far as I can tell.
Just in case you want to try to reproduce it, here are the steps:
1. Load a fresh instance of MSuperLooper in Bitwig
2. In MSuperLooper, enable Sync, set "Default bars" to 4, disable all options (except for "Display waveforms") and ENABLE "Recording stops at main loop"
3. Start playback in DAW (Bitwig) and hit "Record" in MSuperLooper
At this point, it begins recording at the start of the next bar, records for 4 bars, and then starts playing back those 4 bars without overdubbing.
This is perfect!
However, at this point, if I hit "Reset all" and then click "Record," it starts recording at the beginning of the next bar, but only records for one (1) bar. The loop remains 4 bars long, but bars 2 - 4 are blank/silent.
At this point, I've noticed other odd behavior, such as the "Clear track" and "Clear loop" buttons not doing anything.
Again, this happens only in Bitwig, not Reaper (though those are the only two DAWs I have access to for testing, fyi). So I'm guessing it is an issue with Bitwig (though I am not a developer, so that's just a hunch), but I wanted to make you aware in case you haven't received any reports of this behavior already.
Thank you again.

I will definitely check that in Bitwig and let you know.cabinet_of_owls wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:28 pm Me again. The 1-bar record bug was found and problem fixed, will be in next beta release. It was bug in MSL, not Bitwig, but Bitwig behaved very differently in this case. More details were sent to PM.

That's great to hear. Thank you so much for looking into this and fixing it. Just FYI that I don't think I have any PMs from you...I only note that in case you were requesting additional information or anything from me. If that's the case, please feel free to (try to) reach out again. I think I have my KVR profile set up correctly and should be able to receive PMs, but always a possibility I have something wrong on my end. I don't really post much and pretty much only lurk. Anyway, thank you again.
