Diva: Is there a way to create your own tags?

The title basically says it all: I would like to create my own tags for Diva presets, but all the ways I'm aware of in the preset browser only let you add and remove Diva's factory tags. I wasn't able to find a way to create new tags. Is that possible somehow?

I can see why people always want to create their own tags but I would think about it some more. Surely the whole point of having a tag based browser is to have a 'common language' to enable people to organise and locate similar sounds - if you start creating your own I can guarantee that the only similar sounds you will find are the ones you created your own tags for. Think of it like a library - a library needs a system for locating stuff - which is the library codes - but if people started making their own it could end up being hard to locate anything. Your book you created those tags for you thought sounded so clever in your head will be stuck in a shelf of its own.
If you want to see a plugin where allowing inconsistent user created tagging has basically wrecked the whole system just look at NI Komplete Kontrol.

I believe Omnisphere suffers from that as well.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Jun 22, 2025 3:39 pm If you want to see a plugin where allowing inconsistent user created tagging has basically wrecked the whole system just look at NI Komplete Kontrol.

In Omnisphere's case it was a self inflicted wound (by Spectrasonics)Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 11:47 amI believe Omnisphere suffers from that as well.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Jun 22, 2025 3:39 pm If you want to see a plugin where allowing inconsistent user created tagging has basically wrecked the whole system just look at NI Komplete Kontrol.

Renaming the favourites has been an FR for a while, but it's far from useless. That's just hyperbole.Calagan wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 11:55 am If at least you could give your own name to the provided colour tags…
As is, it’s completely useless… (and I love Diva)

At first I was using the favorites and tried to make my own color coded personal stuff (for exemple blue is favorite, red is WIP, pink is cinematic, green is for my band... etc.).
But with time, I just use one color for the "interesting presets", because I never remember what is what. Plus, I'm changing idea regularly and nothing is organized at all. I don't think it must be very difficult to let us rename them. I don't get why it's not possible. The Arturia synths and plugins are quite exemplary regarding the preset organization. But I'm a devote fan of Diva so even with the ergonomic issues it has I still prefer to use this synth...

I'd want renaming too, don't get me wrong. But it's not useless. I just use two colors in my own use: favorite 1 = good preest, favorite 8 = great preset. 2-7 don't get used. WIP presets just get a number appended and never make it to favorite status. Not an ideal system, but it works for my basic needs.
