Unexpected!

Post

I have had Pigments since version 1 so this is a free update for me, but this really seems like a very minor update that should have been version 5.1 or something

Like I said it's free for me, but seems like Arturia phoned it in

I was thinking this was coming in Jan or Feb 2026 so not entirely unexpected but still nice to see.

Thanks aMUSEd.
I am now opening the Arturia Software Center.
Sure all will go well.

Did they add anything fun in v7? I probably won't remember to install it for a while. Especially while I'm obsessed with the new zebra version.

Er I need my GAS mask. I sold this earlier in the year but now want to buy it again. $69 is both a great price and hot af to boot. Someone tell me it's awful please. I need help 😫

The slow startup time of Arturia plugins always bothered me. It seems to be a bit better now with Pigments 7? They mentioned this in the changelog. Such changes (also performance improvements), new filters + better envs - this is a very solid, useful update. Really appreciate that they give this out free.

This happens to me all the time on Arturia. I wish I thought enough about humans that I could believe it's a mistake, but I think they're trying to find some people who don't really check and buy something they already own. I think it was telling me it was $99, even though I own the previous version and the current version of both V collection and FX collection.

This drives me crazy as well, but when I looked into it on their forums and elsewhere, apparently the slow startup times only happen to a small percentage of users, and Arturia has never been able to figure out why it still happens. It seems like it's an issue with the graphics, which is also why their plugins have such big install sizes- it uses a bunch of images instead of having one dynamic graphic for its GUI, and some computer configurations or certain HDD models don't jive with it.

So I dunno, I've just accepted it, with the hopes that I won't have the issue whenever I get a new computer

I see many people are confused by the version names.
Zebra 2 vs. Zebra 3, Serum vs. Serum 2—there are far more changes. But don't forget that this is an annual update. Serum 2 was released 10 years ago. Zebra 3 hasn't even been released for 20 years.
The difference lies in the marketing approach to the names. But it's simply a number in the name, nothing more, nothing less.
