I find V3 a significant improvement over V2. However, it has been unstable so my recommendation is wait another month or two as they have been steadily putting out updates fixing issues.dune_rave wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 5:25 pm I was planning to update my v2 to v3 nowadays, but reading all this ........... should I buy the update or v2 is ok to stay?

I personally would wait for half a year at least and see how things go if you aren't desparate for the new stuff.dune_rave wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 5:25 pm I was planning to update my v2 to v3 nowadays, but reading all this ........... should I buy the update or v2 is ok to stay?

You're out of luck. It still doesn't.kraster wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 8:57 am Scaler 3.1 update out now.
Haven't tried it yet. I'm not interested in new features, I just want the basic plugin to work properly.

Way too complicated for me.
Just trying to load different instruments into each track is mind numbing.
Just too much cluttered stuff.
Rather just use Cubases tools ,much easier but get results instread of fumbling for 10 mins on a simple task which happens in Scaler 3.
I thought they would make it an easier software to use but you still neeed to be Einstein to use it.
I get brain fog through the roof.
My brain just turns to off mode.

It crashes, it slowed down my whole system a few times, zooming issues, drag/drop it still a hit n' miss, detection is worse, the inconsistencies with velocity, and not to get into the piss poor workflow with v3 which makes me not want to use it.martinjuenke wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 9:15 amWhat exactly isn't working properly?TheMaestro wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 11:30 amYou're out of luck. Yeah.
I've been tentatively using it and it seems to be a lot more stable now.
Previous projects in Live that would give me a fatal error in Live now seem to open without issue.
I still don't fully trust it but so far I haven't had many issues.

When your getting started tutorial has almost 40 click through panes, your software might be unintuitive.
I was hoping Scalar 3 would be more refined but I find this to be confusing.

I sometimes use Scaler 2 for its chord borrow view (I forgot the name of it) when doing jazz fusion stuff to make it easier to audition chord substitutions across modes while also stepping through key changes. I always run it in bridged mode if the DAW has that feature, because it's crashy and buggy. Reports that v3 isn't any more stable have kept me from buying it. v2 is the buggiest plugin in my collection that I still sometimes use.

I haven't used since it was first released. Is it in a better state now or still buggy?
